Bottle, 33 cl. Brown beer, small white head. Aroma of malts, light caramel and sweet. Taste is malty, sweet and light caramel, watery texture, only at the end some hops and light bitterness come to the foreground in the aftertaste. Not really a ’grand’ cru. Petit cru would be better.

October 2008: Posh looking flip-top bottle (33cl). This was the third beer in my Luxembourg Beer Evening, again poured into a Veltins Pilsner stemmed glass. I had high hopes for this beer, sadly it didn’t live up to them. It looked fine, a Golden Syrup colour with a head full of large bubbles. The aroma got me going too, toffee, molasses and malts hit my nose. A lager with an aroma, must be good! Oh dear, where did all the excitment go? A fizzy, almost tasteless sweet liquid hit my mouth. I tried to find some malt or hops in the brew and if I am being kind then a piece of malt extract might have been evident somewhere. What a let down, watery and totally without character.

Bottle. Pours a clear, light amber colour with a small white head. Fruity and malty aroma, no skunk. Bit of yeast detected. Flavour is sweet with bitter tones, ok balanced. Watery texture but well carbonated. Decent suprise.

Bottle 33cl. Pours a clear amber/brownish colour with normal carbonation and a good size head.

Botled in Luxembourg. Amber color not much head, keep a thin lacing. Aroma is burned sugar and sweet malt. Flavor is pretty much the same but hints of roasted malt and caramel. Looks like a bock beer. Short finish..

Bottle at Scotts Pub. Clear orange brown coloured with a small off-white head. Malty aroma of hay, caramel and hops. Malty flavour of hay, caramel, hops and grass. Hoppy finish.

Copper with red tinges, white head. Nose is mostly grainy caramel and malt. Taste is malty, caramel notes, vague berries, some dry acerbic bitterness and bread in the finish. Thin body.

Bouteille de 33cl. Couleur ambrée foncée,mousse honnète mais peu de tenue. Arômes maltés, sucre brun assez présent avec une finale métallique peu agréable. Trouvée à Vanuxeem - Ploegstaert.

Bottle - 330ml. Nice copper body with average white foamy head. Aroma is slightly dominated by hoppiness. It carries light malty and grassy hints. Boring taste carries brown sugar notes and leaves a metallic aftertaste.

Bottle: Medium off white head on top of a clear dark orange amber colored beer. Smell malt, caramel, hint of brown sugars. Taste is pretty malty with hints of caramel, sweets, fruit , honey, bitter and herbs. Malty sweet bitter aftertaste. Not bad at all.

Bottle @ home. Red-brown / amber color, decent white head. Smell malts and very strong grains and wort. Especially grains. Taste sweet, malts and grains: not good. Low carbo, low body.
