COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle: Hazy, very dark brown color (coffee), quickly disappearing head. Roasty, light smoky nose with notes of malt, liquorice, candy. Flavor is full bodied, medium sweet, roasty, sweet rum plums, cacao powder, dark chocolate. Light notes of alcohol but all in all well hidden. Roasty, light to medium bitter finish.

Coffee colored with a quickly dissipating beige head. Alcohol is well hidden both in flavor and aroma. The wife describes it as a boozy stout, I would have to agree. A little less sweet than I would prefer and closer to an American rather than English Barleywine (the latter being my preference). As far as Austrian beers go this is fantastic, Gusswerk has set the bar high! Recommended pairings: Zwiebelrostbraten or Hirschragout :)
