2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a dark reddish brown with an off white head. Some chocolate and nutty aromas but faint. The taste is a bit light for a porter but does have some bitterness that seems to lessen the sweetness a good bit. Not bad, and it is drinkable, but it doesn’t have anything really standing out about it. Average...

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
16 oz can to half-pint glass (shared with the Mrs.). Looks solid; a semi-transparent dark amberish brown with fomy light beige head that steadily dissiates into lacing. Smells malty with notes of toast, nut, and caramel. Sme mild bitterness as well. Tastes like it smells with a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Not bad, but underwhelming.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sweet, chocolatey aroma. OK label, standard US longneck, clear rootbeer brown brew, bone colored head. Licorice notes, roast, dry. Homebrew notes of immature maltiness. Medium body, slightly roasty finish. Kroger, Savannah.

Flat, taste doesn't stay with you very long. Many other porter options are better.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
16 oz can
Poured clear but very dark brown, with a good head. Spotty foamy left on the glass.
Aroma: nice (near 8), roasty smell with a touch of toffee and dark fruit.
Flavor: good, near neutral, sweet/bitter balance. A touch of dark fruit and caramel. Mildly bitter finish with some coffee in the aftertaste.
O: a light, chocolately porter. Cheap and decent quality.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A basic, mostly bland beer. Smells like any macro you may come across. It is easily drinkable as it’s pretty much like drinking a Michelob. It smells and tastes much like plain hops and water. The steam/diesel punk lover in me however, loves the design of the can. Pretty to look at, easily forgettable to the taste however.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Drinkable, but a very mediocre porter. I wish I could say that the flavors are there but just too weak, but really a lot of the flavors I’d like to see aren’t there. This is thin, with a bit of a dry roast finish, but otherwise unremarkable.

2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Purchased the beer in pint cans. Little over charged. Poured like a stout. clean on the palate but a bit one dimensional on the malt. Light coffee and vanilla follow. Needs more depth on the roast.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
The good: it isn’t terrible for its price point. It has a similar color/transparency to pop. Carbonation was fine but a little weak. Slight coffee and chocolate taste with light caramel malt flavor finish. Very inoffensive and very unmemorable.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Opaque brown with a thin head cover, dots of lace. Taste is sweet caramel malt with a bitter edge that comes along in the palate. Very simple and straightforward, but really very little going on.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pounder: Walnut and charcoal nose, not strong. Mahogany, thick tan head, good lacing. Walnut on the front and back of the palate. Coffee in between, lightly sweet. Some tinniness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Good transitions. Really pretty good and at a very good price. A good go to porter when you’re on a budget, and even if you’re not.
