2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a dark reddish brown with an off white head. Some chocolate and nutty aromas but faint. The taste is a bit light for a porter but does have some bitterness that seems to lessen the sweetness a good bit. Not bad, and it is drinkable, but it doesnít have anything really standing out about it. Average...

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Holds the appearance of cola color in the glass. Light caramel and roast characters on the nose. A smidgen of dried fig and light chocolate malt in the taste. A very lightweight Porter.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can from Grocery Outlet. Sweet and roasty up front. Strong tootsie roll flavors. Some milk sugars and a touch of roast in the finish. Decent porter. Easy sipping. Good and clean.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This looks like a porter, deep brown in color. Not a heavy porter smell. Dose not taste heavy like some porters missing a sweetness I like in porters. Light on the palateí Overall an average porter that is very drinkable

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Type: 16-oz. can
Glass: Hardwood Artisans pint glass
From: Barons Market in Alpine, Calif.
Price: $2.99 for a 4-pack
Purchased: March 22, 2016
Consumed: March 26, 2016
Misc.: 2024 11:14 on the bottom of the can (I know 11:15 a.m. for the 11:14, but not sure what the 2024 is)
Saw this for $2.99 for a 4-pack of cans (I think they also had $3.99 for a 6-pack of bottles) and instantly picked it up after grabbing their IPA. Found out when I got home that it is under the umbrella of World Brews, so Iím not expecting that much. At least it will be a good value either way.
Poured an auburn, amber, clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of khaki-tan, frothy head. Could make out a few bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Poor lacing on the sides of the glass. Minimal retention on the top all the way down. (Sight - 3.25)
Initial thought on the smell was an amber more than a porter, but definitely a porter. Got roasted nuts, light toffee, toasted grain, faint chocolate, toasted brown sugar and hints of light coffee. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste followed the nose somewhat, maybe a bit darker overall. Got roasted nuts, toasted grain, toffee, sugary dark caramel, dark fruits, light chocolate, toasted brown sugar and cocoa. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Rather smooth finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This was a pretty solid porter. Fairly tasty and drinkable. And cheap. (Overall - 3.50)

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a bottle- aroma is that of caramel malt and a hint of spices, taste is sweet and goes from a sweet caramel flavor to a coffee and malt taste. Good beer for easy drinking.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours clear dark brown with a lasting thin beige head. Aromas of coffee, toast, hay, very malty. Medium-light body, velvety, good carbonation. Lightly sweet, gentle bitterness. Feels more like a dark lager than a porter.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a dark brown with a medium sized off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, sort of plain. The taste was not good, very metallic. Overall, a below average beer from World Brews.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured into a perfect pint.
4.25 A: Clear dark brown color. Two fingers of frothy beige head. Retention is good and glass covering lacing is left.
3.75 S: This smells a lot like amaretto and hazelnut coffee. Fairly sweet and roasty with caramel and toastiness. Smells quite nice, but doesnít have a lot of depth.
3.25 T: The taste is good, but like the nose it lacks depth. Roasty with hints of chocolate, caramel, hazelnut, and coffee.
2.75 M: Lighter body. The carbonation is a bit aggressive, but itís okay. Lacking body and creaminess.
3.0 D: Itís okay, but nothing to go crazy over.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
A very listless pour, despite my efforts at aggressiveness. The head was as ephemeral as an open-air fart. Absolutely no lacing whatsoever. The words I would use to describe its consistency would be thin, watery and stale. A section on the label reads, "ENGINEERED FOR TASTE," which is quite the intriguing ploy--they never indicated WHAT taste. It was perhaps the most insipid porter Iíve ever had. This selection is clearly a macro brew giving a half-hearted effort at creating a micro brew concoction. The general public would certainly be fooled, as they believe any Blue Moon or Shock Top rendition equates to a craft beer (way to go Coors and Bush). Anyway, the flavor was tolerable at best, and now I have the unfortunate endeavor of taking on the Dieselpunk Stout that I bought in tandem with the porter. You canít screw up a Stout, right? We shall see...
