Commercial Description:
This beer was born from the blending of two enduring traditions: Scottish brewing and Québec’s maple syrup production. It is a perfect balance between a maple beverage and beer. The taste of the maple syrup adds to the complexity of the beer, without being overpowering. The first draught fills the mouth with a taste of woody malt which is sustained by a discrete syrupy savour. The lingering aftertaste is one of warm alcohol which coats the mouth with the sweetness of maple toffee. Many maple beers have been brewed in Québec, however the ´ Équinoxe du printemps ª is the first to succeed in producing a beer that truly bears the essence of maple syrup.

Aroma is a slightly drier maple syrup. The flavor comes through with a bit more sugar, but it’s still pretty dry, all in all. Maybe it’s because your brain is expecting maple syrup!

Brown bottle, 341 ml, drank in a Dieu du Ciel! glass, purchased at Jovi on May 3 2008, savoured on May 8 2008; eye: caramel with a reddish hue, hazy, lots of creamy beige head that turnes into a layer to protect the beer, no lacing; nose: butterscotch, feels the maple presence more than its odour, grainy malt, alcohol, light ash; mouth: creamy, malt, sweet, again, feels more the presence of the maple than taste it, and so is the case for the alcohol, pleasant dryness, a bit liqueur-like, candied fruits, woody, light ash, a bit cloying, quite carbonated, medium body, rather sweet, lightly bitter; overall: quite likable FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 341 ml, bue dans un verre Dieu du Ciel!, achetée chez Jovi le 3 mai 2008, savourée le 8 mai 2008; œil : caramel foncée avec une teinte rougeâtre, voilée, mousse beige abondante qui se transforme en un petit tapis, pas de dentelle; nez : butterscotch, devine la présence de l’érable sans vraiment la sentir, malt granuleux, alcool, léger cendré; bouche : crémeux, malt, sucrée, de nouveau, on devine plus la présence d’érable qu’on la goûte, de même pour l’alcool, sécheresse plaisante, un peu liquoreuse, fruits confits, boisé, léger cendré, petite amertume, finale en malt avec présence d’érable, un peu toquante, très carbonatée, corps moyen, plutôt sucré, légèrement amère; en résumé : bien aimé

341ml bottle. thanks to Dany (Glouglouburp) for this great extra in our trade at DLD. pours dark reddish brown with creamy off white head. the aroma is surprisingly yeasty, butterscotch, bread, and dark fruit. flavors are yeasty, maple syrup, dark fruit, and toffee. slightly fizzy mouth feel. really tasty if only a bit too yeasty.

Very hazy amber body with nice lasting light tan head. Aroma is very malty with maple and light wood. Flavour is rich with underlying maple sweetness to the finish. Nice cover of the higher abv.

Couleur rouge ambrée. Mince collet. Effervescente. Pas amer. Avec la lie, elle est plus douce. Goût assez fort.
