(Rating #5124)

On tap at Festibière de Québec. A very cloudy whitish-yellow with a nice white head. Aroma is lemon, wheat. Flavor is wheat, lemon, spices. Finish is very dry, mostly lemon. Medium body, prickly mouthfeel, medium to strong carbonation. Alright.

On tap @ Festibière de Québec. Hazy yellow with a medium white head and some lacing. Aroma is of wheat, citrus, light sourness, light banana and a weird medicinal aroma. Taste is about the same. Medium body. Low carbonation. Slightly tart mouthfeel. The light tartness in this one is really interesting and I like this interpretation of an old-style wheat beer, but there was something wrong with the keg or at least the glass they served me. The medicinal aroma/taste was certainly not intended.

Glass at brewpub. Some banana notes, lots of yeast. Pours golden clear with little head or lacing. Easy drinker worth revisiting.

Drank on tap (12 oz) at the Montreal brewpub on May 19, 2013. Blonde pale straw, a little hazy, small head. Slightly sour aroma of wheat, a little spicy. Wheat taste very dry, a little of the lemon grass, lemon aftertaste. It’s very mild and refreshing!

Very pale hazy white hue, with a ring of white head, with a yeasty lactic, faint funky, earthy wheat malt nose, with a kind of burnt rubber, light lemon juicy, subtle green apple tartness note in the aroma follows through on a light-bodied palate with a nice lactic, wheaty, pale, pilsener malt character, with some plain yogurtish mlikiness, faint doughy, subtle lemon peel acidic flavours, with a light spiciness undertone, leading towards a milky lactic, wheaten maltiness finish.

In short: A full bodied tart wheat beer of superior quality. Very good
How: Tap at brewpub, post-Mondial 2012 special event
The look: Cloudy yellow body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is pretty strong for the style boosting strong wheaty aromas with the usual bananas and also something that I described as plain ice-cream. Taste has a lot of wheat, the usual wheat beer acidity, a tartness stronger than usual for the style, lemony notes, very little (if any) of the usual wheat beer spiciness. Full fluffy body. Refreshing and nourishing. This really was a superior wheat beer. Another post-Mondial DDC event where I had way too much to drink, and later during the night I think I made this hot girl at the bar totally jealous because she never stopped staring at me when I was slow dancing and making out with my pint of beer.

A hazed sickly yellow with a thin white head. In aroma, a light sulfury malt with light cloves and bananas. In mouth, a smooth sweetish and acidic wit with light sulfur notes, some nice berry notes, a tad watery but otherwise quaffable, On tap at DDC, June 16, 2012.
