I had this before on tap at DDC pub, but now, this is finally in bottle! A great beer, in fact it is now in my top 5 IPAs in Quebec. A very well balance beer, nice hops feel... very close to an Heady Topper... not there, but very close. Well done, a must for IPA lovers.

Pours a hazy orangish gold with a huge frothy white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, mango, passionfruit, guava and light pine with some malty sweetness lingering. Taste is tropical fruits, sweet caramel malts up front, passionfruit, papaya, mango and then a rich and complex bitterness that’s borderline astringent. The finish is nice and dry and makes all the flavor of this one come out... Absolutely love this ipa!

Ambré/jaune brumeux avec une petite robe blanche. L’arôme est bordée d’agrumes et florale avec un peu du malt. En bouche il y a les fruits tropicaux et les agrumes. Très fraîche et très bonne.

341 ml bottle. (6.9% ABV) Pours a hazy, golden amber with a medium, long lasting, frothy, white head that laces. Fruity, hoppy, grapefruit aroma. Sweet, fruity flavour of grapefruit, malt, pine, resin and grass with a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. A really nice IPA.

2015-04-28, bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver, 8-5-8-5-16=42
Hazy golden color with medium head. Perfect balance of hop and malt, lean body, perfect balance of hop bitterness, fruitiness and hop resins.

2015-04-23, draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 8-4-8-5-17=42
Hazy golden color. Fruity aroma, lean body, a bit animal character, with very resiny hops.

2015-04-20, cask at Steel Toad, Vancouver, 250ml, 7-4-8-5-16=40
Cloudy golden orange color with no head. The aroma is moderately fruity, citrusy and piney hops. The carbonation is rather low, but the chilled temperature makes up for the lack of it and helps the mouthfeel; very good backbone of pale malts, crackery, with moderate residual sweetness, and delicious fruity hops; in the final there is a light spicy touch from the yeast.
Great refreshing beer.

I’ve been eager to get my fingerprints on a bottle of this for awhile but my local LCBOs have been too eager to fill the shelves with Creemore retreads & Granville Island misfires. But finally I found a 4 pack today. My first thought is this may not be the freshest find (& we know the rapid half-life of hoppy IPAs) & the dating system on the bottle baffles me. Regardless, it is a pretty pour in the glass, all mandarin orange with a nice cushion of foam on top. Aroma is a bit muted but the taste is mango, squeezed grapefruit & some other nice tropical hop voodoo that makes me smile. Id like to retry this on tap & with a fresher batch because I can sense time has slightly degraded it. The bottom line here is this an IPA that puts out (i.e. hoppy).

On tap at St Augustine’s in Vancouver. A pale Amber beer with a bit of white head. Citrus hop nose. This is a lightly and delicately hopped beer, and not at all what I’ve become accustomed to in the newer IPA style. It’s a pleasant brew, no mistake, but previous reviews notwithstanding, I’m gonna have to be a holdout on this one. 3.

Ryan made me drink this beer. It has a strong aroma which smells so well. I’m a beer idiot. It’s a little too bitter for me. The colour is very beautiful, it looks like caramel.

Bottle from the LCBO. Cloudy medium orange with a good sized off white head that recedes gradually leaving some sparse lace. Lots of tropical fruit, pine resin and toffee on the nose with grapefruit, pineapple, orange rind and melon appearing. Great level of bitterness from start to finish with the citrus being the focus. Well balanced with a light honey and toffee sweetness. Medium+ slick body with medium carbonation and a great long dry finish. Need to pick up significantly more of this next time I am in Montreal.

On tap. Pours Amber with light head. Aromas of tropical fruit, oranges, and resin. Flavors of bitter oranges, gooseberries, pineapple, and biscuity malts. Resiny, long bitter finish. Nice.
