(28 novembre 2012)
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 callmemickey (1355) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 2, 2012
On tap at Dieu du Ciel Montreal. Orangeish-amber body, moderate sized dense white head, streaky lacing. Nose is fairly citric with grapefruit and orange and a light malt base. Flavor is more grapefruit and orange and a light pale malt backdrop. Moderate bitterness complements a medium to full bodied mouthfeel. Smooth carbonation, clean finish. Was expecting a more assertive profile with Alchemist’s involvement--was still solid though.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 j12601 (5609) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - NOV 24, 2012
On tap at Dieu du Ciel. Pours a hazed amber orange with a medium to large creamy beige head. Big citrus hops on the nose, a touch of malt and a bit of grapefruit. Pithy grapefruit peeks out over an earthy backbone thick with malt. A little muted for a bigger IPA but it’s still quite delicious. Probably pairs up wonderfully with food as it’s not overpowering but has a lot of subtlety. Malt and a gentle laid back bitterness into the finish. Very easy drinking for the amount of alcohol in it, but it may be a touch on the sweet side.
