COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was specially brewed for Dieu du Ciel’s sixth anniversary. It reflects the recent tendency of American brewers to push all beer styles to the extremes. This lager is therefore quite strong in alcohol and it has a sharp but delicate bitterness, like all pilsners. The beer is full-bodied and well balanced thanks to the delicate sweet flavours that come through.

Bottle from BD CJ. It pours clear orange-amber with a decent off-white head. The nose is woody, earthy brett, funk, light fruitiness and dough. The taste is bitter-sweet, funky, brett, barnyard, big wood, vinous, sweet graininess, earth, biscuit, stone fruits, light alcohol and tannin with a woody finish. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Interesting stuff for sure, not sure if the balance is quite there though. Fun stuff.

Leighton (11638) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 25, 2014
Bottle shared at BrewDog Clapham Junction - London. Thanks! Pours mostly clear, rich orange with a foamy, off-white head. Lots of brett character on the nose, some oak, pale bread. Medium sweet with a decent amount of woody alcohol, poopy brett. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with further brett funk, subtle tannins, alcohol, biscuits, grass. Quite novel. The barrel aging and brett make this pretty much unrecognizable as a lager.

(Rating #5722)

2014-08-23. Dark orange body with a small beige head. 3+ Aroma is moderately alcoholic, pleasant vinous wine accents and mild wood notes. Flavour is pleasant, the vinous wine character is nice, wood notes vary from too strong to pleasantly subtle. Biscuity muted accents to the pale malt core. Smooth average plus bodied palate, low carbonation. Needs a bit more carbonation. Decent. Bottle at DDC Tap Takeover Event, Volo, Toronto

Glowing body, small head. Very interesting. Carbonation, funky, alcohol warmth, cinnamon even. Odd beer, who would age this? Lots if fun to try though! (Bottle shared with Fx and generously brought to Paris by Tommy)

bottle thanks to hoppypocket. pours hazy pale golden with a small creamy-ish white head, little retention and lacing. red wine and bretty funk, strong oaky notes - vanilla, red grapes, tannins, berries, miscellaneous fruitiness - juicy, slightly perfumey, tingling booze, grassy-herbalness, sweet honeyed and doughy pale maltiness. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily, silky and a bit sticky, assertive grassy-herbal-citrusy medium long finish. this one is tough to rate: there’s nothing really left of the original brew if not sweet pale malts, bold herbal-grassy hops and booze ; citrusy-zingy and not quite tart enough to be a sour. at times, it’s like red wine and cheese in a glass. definitely enjoyable..

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2014 Bottle thanks to czar, thanks a lot! Pours a nice golden with a thin and weak white head that doesn’t leave much lacng. Nose is intense fruits and wine, pinot of course. Taste is sweet and lightly bitter with some light oak flavors along the intense wine presence. Body is medium, texture really oily. Alcohol is warming. Nice!
