3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
It pours dark opaque brown; the head is beige and mousse-like. The aroma has notes of: vanilla, milk chocolate, and figs. The taste is medium sweet that finishes light bitter; there are notes of: vanilla, oak, and chocolate. The palate is medium bodied, creamy mouth feel, and has a medium finish. Overall, itís far less impressive than I remember it being.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draft, 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours an opaque dark color, little to no tan head. Aroma big, rich and roasty. Coffee, cacao, roasted malt, smoke. Body surprisingly rich, smooth, lush and slippery. Finish is marvelously complex, milk chocolate, vanilla, roasted grains, cream. Stunning.

I rate beers I think significantly better than average, simple as that. I am not into showing off through word games. :) That said, whether it is being sold as Aphrodite or Aphrodisiaque this is one of the finest beers in the world.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Served in a small snifter.
Every aspect of this stout is exceptional. It has a smooth, creamy near full feel with more-or-less perfect, soft carbonation. Very satisfying stout.
Taste: hint of sour; more bitter than sweet. Rich and complex. Dark fruits and coffee.

11.5 oz bottle thanks to WillRunForBeer. Pours pitch black with a medium sized soft foamy head that lingers nicely. Big milk chocolate and vanilla aroma with some roasted malt and a little nuttiness. Taste is moderately sweet with lots of chocolate, cocoa, and vanilla. Finish is roasty and mildly bitter. Great flavor but not as robust as I expected. Thin to medium but a very nice smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Very good stout.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a very dark brown/black with small creamy, light brown head, minimally lasting. Wonderful sweet and roasty aroma, coffee, cocoa, rich milk chocolate, vanilla. Flavor follows; great roasted malt flavor with some sweet touches. Medium body. Smooth and creamy. Dry, light roasty bitterness in finish. The empty glass even smells especially nice. Well done.
