COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

Bottle from Brook Falls Discount. Pours a very dark brown with a brown head leaving nice spots of lace. Aroma is pure chocolate liquour, plus cocoa, vanilla and caramel. Luscious! Taste is of dark chocolate, cocoa powder, milk chocolate, roasty caramelly malts and light vanilla. Medium bodied with a touch of alcohol. Finishes to the sweet side of bittersweet, and chocolatey, with depth. This a terrific tasty brew!

On tap at Dutch’s. Black color. Good thin light brown head, leaves great, thicker lace. Super smooth, creamy, velvety lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Medium body. Intensely drinkable, the texture is like chocolate milk, but the taste is not as sweet. A very nice bitter dark chocolate taste too it too, light sweet. Great vanilla, dark chocolate, light bit of coffee in the aroma. Very nice vanilla aftertaste. Awesome

Black pour with a one finger fluffy tan head and some small tan floaties. Aroma is loaded with chocolate and nutty notes, then some roast, earth, burnt sugar, a hint of smoke, mellow vanilla, and light herbal and earthy notes. Flavor is huge on chocolate, roast and nutty notes up front followed by vanilla, dark caramel, earth, a little toffee, roast, dark toasted bread, then a little smoky char, faint minerality and light floral and spicy hops to the finish. In the aftertaste some vanilla comes back in along with the faint Medium body with a full creamy entry, medium, blanketing carbonation leading up to a slightly more dry (seemingly influenced by mineral content), a very clean finish, almost crisp, but with a lingering creaminess. Fantastic, a really well thought out recipe for sure, great balance between all components.

Bottle at Ryan’s. Pours a very deep, dark brown topped with a fluffy one finger light beige head. Cocoa, fresh vanilla, and roasted malt on the nose. Finishes with considerable roastiness and hints of espresso combined with a touch of hop bitterness. Medium-bodied, smooth and creamy, moderate carbonation. An exceptional beer.
