COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

Bottle, bought @ Vinens Verden, Odense.
Pours pitch black with a large, firm, creamy, beige head. Aroma has smoke, cocoa-powder, dark chocolate, light coffee notes, roasted malts, a touch of liqourice and fine, elegant vanilla sweetness. Low carbonation, fine creamy and light mouthfeel. First impression is chili or pepper, but otherwise flavour is powdery cocoa, roasted malts, sweet vanilla, bitter, coffee and dark chocolate notes. Really stunning dry bitter aftertaste with lots of cocoa and milk chocolate. This is an amazing taste explosion at 6,5 %. More taste and far more elegance than most Imperial Stouts ever muster, far beyond most regular stouts. Stunning.

ChrisOs Kook Tasting. Opaque black beer. Thick chocolate head. Soft palate. Soft semi sweet chocolate. Drinking chocolate powder. Finishes soft with just a little vanilla.. Slightly artificial chocolate but drinkable. Trace of bubblegum.

Black with a lasting tan head. Roasted aroma dominated by licorice, with a hint of smoke. Sweet licorice and chocolate flavour with a full body and intense dark character

pitch dark, brown smooth creamy head. aroma is toffee, chocolate, faint roasted stuff, vanilla, sweetness (cocoa). flavor is licorice, chocolate, faint toffee, spicy tinge, caramel. aftertaste is roasted stuff , tofee and chocolate. palate is quite thick. overall a very flavorfull beer, but a bit too much toffee-sweet and chocolate, too chocolate-dessert like. Well blended and lots of flavors to explore, but a bit too far to the sweet side to really hit it home. but it’s close...

Courtesy of After4ever, thanks Tom. It’s black with a dark-brown, creamy head and the aroma has notes of roasted malt, orange-chocolate, cocoa and vanilla. The flavour is sweet with notes of roasted malt, orange-chocolate, berries, cocoa, vanilla and the finish is dry, I’m not fond of the notes of orange-chocolate in this otherwise nice beer.

Bottle from ericandersnavy. Thanks man! Pours really dark with a slight tan head. Really rich dark toast aroma. Near full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is smokey, toasty malt and chocolate. It is like candy, except it’s not all that sweet. Seems pretty well balanced. There’s a strange pervading flavor - think it’s vanilla. Not a problem. Whatever it is, it blends in well. Very nice. Finishes towards chocolate.

Bottle from Radiomgb, thanks! Almost black and opague. Roast, vanilla and chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with vanilla, pear and chocolate. Some roastbitterness in the finish. Luscious and very drinkable. Cacao in the aftertaste. Only a bit too simple to get a 4+.

Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Light brown dense head. Chocolate, sweetness, light roast, light spice and light fruits in the nose. Flavour is toffeeish, chocolaty, sweet, milky, spicy and swweeeeeeeeeeet. I¨m half drunk, but who cares. Medium to full bodied. Ends on a roasty milky floral bla bla bla end. NIce

Bottle from Keg Liquor. Poured black color with medium creamy tan head that lasted with excellent lacing. Aroma is very complex with roasted malt, vanilla and bourbon. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Moderate to heavy chocolate bittersweet flavor and moderate to heavy complex dark sweet bourbon finish of long duration. Standout complex beer for dessert or with a cigar.
