COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

Bottle from ericandersnavy. Thanks man! Pours really dark with a slight tan head. Really rich dark toast aroma. Near full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is smokey, toasty malt and chocolate. It is like candy, except itís not all that sweet. Seems pretty well balanced. Thereís a strange pervading flavor - think itís vanilla. Not a problem. Whatever it is, it blends in well. Very nice. Finishes towards chocolate.

pitch dark, brown smooth creamy head. aroma is toffee, chocolate, faint roasted stuff, vanilla, sweetness (cocoa). flavor is licorice, chocolate, faint toffee, spicy tinge, caramel. aftertaste is roasted stuff , tofee and chocolate. palate is quite thick. overall a very flavorfull beer, but a bit too much toffee-sweet and chocolate, too chocolate-dessert like. Well blended and lots of flavors to explore, but a bit too far to the sweet side to really hit it home. but itís close...

A: The pour is a dark brown color with a massive tan head and a ton of carbonation. S: The nose is rich and chocolate filled. Great sweet milk chocolate notes, vanilla, and a more subtle roasted character and a dark caramel note as well. T: Like the nose, plenty of sweet milk chocolate, cocoa, and vanilla. A more pronounced roasted flavor along with some slightly burnt notes. M: The body is medium with a fairly high carbonation that actually works alright. D: Not quite as good as Peche Mortel, but still nice. Definitely overcarbonated, but a vigorous pour and some time in the glass helps to smooth that out.

Bottle from Keg Liquor. Poured black color with medium creamy tan head that lasted with excellent lacing. Aroma is very complex with roasted malt, vanilla and bourbon. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Moderate to heavy chocolate bittersweet flavor and moderate to heavy complex dark sweet bourbon finish of long duration. Standout complex beer for dessert or with a cigar.
