4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 phredrik (886) - Aalborg, DENMARK - MAY 29, 2012
Bottle as an extra from GothGargoyle - thanks a lot. Pours black with a small brown head. The aroma is amazing - cocoa beans, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, fudge - amazing balance. Just very pleasant to sniff. Like she said last night. A bit weird thing to say. Additional notes of sweet rasperries and butterscotch. Sooo good. Taste is much the same, though not as intensely sweet as the aroma suggests - a good amount amount of roasted malts, bitter cocoa and coffee note to keep up with the sweet vanilla and fudge notes. The body is actually a bit thin, but it helps make it very drinkable and not overly sweet. I had this at CBC and I loved it, and drinking this bottle, I love it just the same. Very very good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Powertrip (840) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 25, 2012
Single bottle purchased from Zyn Liqour in Calgary, AB on 05/11/2012. Colour: pretty much black woth dark brown low tracing head. Nose: Yeast is drowing in cooked grains. Cocao notes abundant. Late trace of light hop. Taste: Medium-light sweet, medium bitter, light sour. Pounds of roasting and cooked malt and grains, well-done bitterness takes hold middle and carries right through to the finish. Long lingering char. Average.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ClubGonzo (1979) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 25, 2012
On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Pitch black body, medium creamy light beige head. Aroma is coffee, mocha, dark chocolate, cocoa and subtle hints of licorice and soy in the back. Taste is more mocha, vanilla, coffee, hints of dark chocolate and cocoa. Very "mocha-choc"-ish, but nice. Smooth mouthfeel with a dry finish. A nice stout solidly placed in the coffee-style niche, but somewhat overrated IMO.
3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 solidfunk (660) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 23, 2012
Pours black, red on the candlelight. Great tracing. Definitely smell and taste the vanilla, though the taste has more coffee. Christ I’m just eating nachos in Dieu Du Ciel, I don’t know what to say about this master craft brew. Actually not that heavy on the palate.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 OmegaX (542) - Florida, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Thanks to Chipalsa for getting me another one of my most-wanted brews. Nose is lots of roast with some coffee and light cocoa notes. Overall, this one is creamy with a black body and fine bubbles on the head. Quite a dry stout but rich in flavors. Lots of cocoa and coffee notes with some light vanilla. Good stuff.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 humlelala (400) - DENMARK - MAY 18, 2012
(341 ml bottle courtesy of GothGargoyle, thanks!) Pours black with little, toffee head that fades quickly leaving a little lace. Aroma is pleasant vanilla complemented by a subtle roasted malt as well as hints of coffee. Softly carbonated, oily texture, medium bodied with a roasted, slightly dry and bitter finish. Initial flavour follows the aroma but the roasted malt weighs in at the end. Very well balanced and good use of vanilla in a beer. Girlfriend says: "It’s pretty good. It’s well balanced, not too boozy. There’s a lot of flavour in it. I like the vanilla."
