COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

Seriously Dieu du Ciel?! I understand why you are in the top 100 brewers in the world for 2012! I love your Corne du Diable, now the Aphrodisiaque is a must have in my fridge! A well balanced beer, one of my favorite Stout!

341ml bottle. Pitch black colour with late awakening, small, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Roasty dark malty aroma, hints of liquorice; while warming up hints of vanilla and cocoa make an appearance. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, slightly metallic; vanilla and cocoa appear in the finish and carry some sweetness with them. Slightly sticky palate without oily texture. Too much vanilla for me; in general modulating the scope of the style (or pushing it to the limits) in areas (catchword: marshmallows) not prefered by me.

Bottle thanks to Alemax. Pours brown with orange tan head, settles quickly with essentially no lacing. Aroma is sweet, vanilla, cocoa, toasted and roasted malt, and cane sugar. Flavor is roasted up front, toffee, and lightly bitter up front, lightly smoky, with a vanilla and dark chocolate finish. Soft to moderate carbonation, medium body, and smooth texture.

On tap at Bier Markt. Looks like a stout. This is some sweet smelling beer. Lots of vanilla and chocolate on the nose with some coffee. Same notes for the taste, but it’s not too sweet and the vanilla is more subdued on the taste.. Well balanced. Creamy mouthfeel. Gets better as it warms up. A absolute joy to sip.

Poured out a very deep brown with mocha head, and immediately began wafting out dark chocolate mocha scents. Tasted of dark chocolate, vanilla, with a hint of coffee bitterness

Poured out of a bottle. Had it with a 10oz ribeye. Lots of big flavours. A smooth drinking dark brew. A great experience. The description on the bottle says it all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Thanks to SlovakSniper for this one. Fairly thick, dark brown pour with a small, medium-brown head. Sweet aromas of chocolate, vanilla, caramel and a touch of booziness. Flavour is less sweet. Cocoa, vanilla, roasted malt, and some very subtle but rich notes of coffee, nuts, smoke and dark fruits. Nice rich creamy texture. Brilliant stout.

341ml bottle. Pours jet black with frothy dark team head. Aromas are awesome, vanilla hits you first then cocoa and chocolate and then coffee and some oak. Tastes of vanilla, bitter chocolate, espresso, some nuttiness, resin even a bit of dark fruit. A smooth even slightly oil mouthfeel which finishes with a lingering bitter taste. This is a tremendous beer.

pours black with medium, brown head. Aromas of roasted malts, dark chocolate, espresso and vanilla. Flavors resemble the nose, with the roasted malt and cocoa leading the charge, but the vanilla is present. nice rich mouthfeel, smooth and silky with a nice bitter finish. Fan-freakin-tastic.
