Masterpiece. Bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, leather, woody, roasted malt, excellent hops to support, silky, oily, velvety, medium to heavy body. This is soooooo good.

This has everything I love in it. Vanilla, chocolate, coffee, a sweet stout. "Complex, yet well balanced." I couldn’t imagine a better stout.

Excellente!

Divine!

Bottle. Full marks, it’s like an imperial. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, and liquorice. Taste is sweet with bitter notes, long lasting. Palate is silky, and full bodied. Black, with a frothy off-white head.

drank out of pint glass. pitch black with a thick moka head that creates a heavy lacing throughout the beer. aroma is chocolate, vanilla, and roasted malts. a milkshake at 6.5% abv! like the label says, this beer is a beautiful marriage between chocolate and vanilla, though i do think the chocolate is a bit more apparent. thick on the palate, medium carbonation, an almost silky mouthfeel. this is my favorite "everyday" beer, the kind of beer i have in my refrigerator at all times. the only stout better than this one, is aphrodisiaque fresh from the tap at Dieu du Ciel!

YES. YES. YES. What a wonderfull beer, what an symphonious beer, what a beer. Clicking on the words to the right seems pointless because an image is worth a thousand words but this beer is worth a vow of muting. Nothing could be improved. I don’t usually rate beers with impressive grades but this one is worth the perfect score I gave.

finally, after a long anticipated wait...here it sits before me. bottled as "aphrodite" it already looks awesome with this hotty on the bottle. it pours a pitch black under a medium sized brown head. the aroma is of perfectly melded milk chocolate and roasted barley with some cream. oh yes! the flavor is melted milk chocolate with the richness of a real candy bar, a pinch of salt and faint hints of vanilla. the palate is creamy and med-full but refreshing too. if i had a million dollars i would fill a pool with this beer. pure goodness. i cannot find a single flaw. i’m not worthy! my first perfect 5.
4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 drpimento (1735) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 2, 2010
Hahahahaha! Man, I caint believe my good luck! Nother fabulous beer. Ah musta been blest. Or, I just recognised a good beer when I saw it. In any case, this is sublime. Poured with a medium tan to light brown head that settled down to a light cover quickly and some lace. Color is absolute opaque black. Aroma is a sweet blend of melting chocolate, malt, caramel, vanilla, and pipe tobacco. Flavor is like that and lots bigger: all qualities are more prominant along with a definite smokieness. Body is very soft and carbonation just where it should be in this case. Finish is like flavor and very slowly tapers in a long finish. Ultimate after dinner beer.
