Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

Bottle in a trade with Dany, thanks. Pours a dark impy stout color with a tan rim and head. Aroma of cocoa, smoke, and some chocolate. Flavors were best at a temp. a few degrees warmed than cellar. Chocolate, dry/bakers cocoa, and vanilla. Pretty nice.

Bottle from my local supermarket. Served in an antique crystal snifter. It has a fantastic rich cocoa aroma, not as complex as I expected but just great. A soft velvety texture with round carbonation and a medium body. The taste is very rich cocoa, vanilla, roasty, chocolate, savory umami richness.

Noire d’encre, petit collet brun de fines bulles. Aromes superbement équilibré entre chocolat, la vanille et malt rôti. Le palais est relativement rond et onctueux, l’amertume cacaoté du final est assez longue sans être sèche. Hummmmmm

355ml bottle from The Only Cafe. 6.5 alc./vol. Pours a dark brown colour with 1 finger of tanned head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Flavor matches the aroma with notes of dark chocolate and has a dry finish. Moderate carbonation.

Butelka 341ml. OCZY : czarne piwo o średniej wielkości jasnobrązowej pianie. Piana jest trwała o rożnej wielkości pęcherzykach. NOS : pierwszy niuch to uderzenie wanilii! Takie podobne do lodów waniliowych. Mocnym aromatem jest również czekolada. Dalej wyczuwam śmietanę i kawę z mlekiem. Musze podkreślić, że aromaty tego piwa są niebiańskie. Jeszcze tak przyjemnego aromatu u stouta nie czułem. No może Rogue chocolate stout mógł delikatnie to przypominać. Poezja. Tutaj wanilia i czekolada grają główne skrzypce. Aksamitne w buzi. ODCZUCIA : zwaliło mnie to piwo z nóg. Nie spodziewałem się takiej subtelności. Pyszne i satysfakcjonujące każdy wymóg jaki można byłoby sobie postawić piwu w tym stylu. Gorąco polecam. OCENA : smak : 9/10 pijalność : 8/10 styl : +2

Label is a bit messy so I have no idea how old this is. Black with a dark brown tone when looked upon in a light. Cocoa is dominant in the aroma, slight whisker of vanilla, coffee and dark chocolate. Bitter when it hits the tongue, huge sense of coffee when it hits the mouth. Finish is medium bitter, a bit on the dry side. Very pleasantly surprised just how far away from sweet this is. This is very good considering it is quite small in abv.

Bottle. Wow this is good! super smooth body with perfectly balanced roast flavours. The additives work so well in this. Up there with the Peche Mortel.

Might be the best stout on the planet. Pefect balance between dark malt vanilla and chocolate.

Pours jet black into a tulip glass with a nice 2 finger coffee head that slowly dissipates. Incredible aromas of vanilla and mocha coffee. The vanilla is very upfront in the taste, balanced extremely well with the coffee and chocolate flavours. Great balance of sweet and bitter/dry too. Nice full body for a supposed non-imperial stout. Magnificent beer that I find myself coming back to time and again.
