On tap at Dieu du Ciel. Pours a hazy ruby amber with a medium sized white to beige head. Sweet banana notes, caramel and musk. Medium bodied, big creamy mouthfeel, full of bananas with a touch of smoked caramel. Really smooth, big and filling. I don’t get a lot of spicy rye here until the little bit of spice and pumpernickel notes that delicately show up on the finish, but what is here is lovely. Loads of creamy bread pudding textures and sweet banana. Very nice stuff.

Hazy dark amber hue, with a beige head, yeasty, fruity, grainy toasted, caramel, biscuity malt, rye cereal, light spicy nose, with some faint bananaish, drak dried fruit esters, within a soft toffeeish, cookie dough, peppery clove aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, raisiny, grainy toasted, caramel, biscuity malt, rye cereal breadiness character, with some granola bars, apple pie crust, faint black coffee, toffee flavors, with some cinnamon, clove spicy undertones, with a light flowery grasy hop notes, leading towards a fruity, spicy, grainy rye, maltiness finish.

on tap at DdC. amber orange with a thin beige head. lots of rye, spices and fruit notes in the aroma. sourdough bread and sweet malts hit the tongue initially, ended by some nice floral hops. mouthfeel is light and refreshing. was very good with the sandwich platter offered by the brewery.

Tap at Mondiale 2010. Pours a deep woody brown with a beige lasting fluffy head. Aroma is big spicy rye malt, herbal peppery spices like cardamon mixing with yeasty phenolics, clove and light plastic- as it warms more fruity yeasty esters come out- some banana hefeweizen character and warm rye bread. Flavor is more banana some phenolic clove, cardamon, pepper, soft rye malts, light earth, leafy, dust, big bready yeast character and dough with more zesty fresh rye malt in the end and clean full mouthfeel like a hefeweizen, and a smooth finish- easy drinking. Crazy good.

on tap at the brewpub. Aroma of grains, rye, pale malts, and lots of cereal. faint wet cardboard. Flavor is some what watery, but had a faint smokiness, and some rye grains. nothing special, not one of their better efforts.

Taster at teh Mondial de la biere 2010 Montréal. The colr is a hazy amber with a thin beige head. The aroma is of rye. The taste is sweet like candies and berry fruits, also malt. Very different taste and also very pleasing.

A hazy murkey brown ale with a thin moka head. An interesting aroma of brown sugar, woods extract, light perfumey notes, some mustard seed in vanilla fudge. In mouth, a sweet malt with fusel and wood, a bit thin for my taste, oily mouthfeel. On tap at Mondiale de la Bière 2010.

Boutip (4646) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 21, 2010
Draft: Poured a deep amber color ale with large foamy head with good retention. Aroma of rye malt is quite dominant with light sweet notes also noticeable. Taste is not the most complex but very refreshing with loads of rye and minimal hops presence. Sweetness is pretty subdued and cereal taste is quiet fresh. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not complex but easily drinkable and quiet enjoyable.

On-tap at Mondiale 2010. Yeasty aroma, oddly enough. Very dark brown, with virtually no head. Somewhat lighter than average mouthfeel. A little coconut taste. Not working for its style.
