Brewed only once a year to keep you warm during the cold winter months, the Blanche Neige (« Snow white ») isn’t your typical wheat beer. Firstly, the level of alochol is surprising and is perceived rapidly both in the bouquet and in the mouth. The spices come through immediately, giving very little room for the usual wheat beer aromas (coriander and curaçao). Cinnamon and clove dominate and the flavours are generously well-rounded thanks no doubt to residual sugars. It is therefore a very sweet beer that is best appreciated slowly.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours bright orange with a small white head. Nose is sweet and zesty with a heavy focus on lemon rind and ginger. Very Christmas cake forward. Taste is spice driven as they come. Loads of ginger, clove, nutmeg, citric zest and banana. Like a ginger Christmas cake. Odd. Works together well but not my kind of beer

341 ml bottle poured into my DDC tulip. Golden pour, big, frothy white head. Aroma of a belgian wit. Im getting corriander, some light citrus and tropical fruit with some subtle spcing, Carb is quite high, but does not detract, mouth feel is perfect. The finish is very low on the bitterness. The cloves really shine in the end, a big clove presence, and earthiness. Tropical fruit, with a distinct clove earthiness round out the finish, and the alcohol is incredibly well hidden. Great beer.

Single from the local IGA store. Pours a hazy golden colour with a frothy white head, good retention and sticky-dirty lace. Smells like a beautiful witbier with the fresh coriander and wheat notes. The taste is spicy as well with some light orangy malts and mild grassy hops. A nice brew, but do not taste as much the advertised cloves and cinnamon.

12 oz. bottle, with a date of Jan 2014. Nice aroma of coriander, floral hops and rosemary.

Flavor is very herbal, rosemary, parsley, and coriander is the lasting lingering flavor. Lots of pale malts with the herbs giving the bitterness. ABV is hidden nicely. Overall, a solid Belgain Strong.

Cloudy straw orange. Nose is coriander and a little honey and spice. Pretty herbal. Taste has a lot of orange, pretty yeasty, herbs and spices. Very nice. 3.9

Appearance - Pours a cloudy, honey straw colour with a very thin white film for a head. Leaves moderate lacing behind as drunk. This is an 8.3 % abv. Nose - Nice spiciness. Cinnamon. Cloves. Pumpkin pie. Nutmeg. Palate - Quite spicey. Warming as it goes down the throat into the chest. Pumpkin spices. A creamier mouth feel than most Wit beers. A slight bitter tingle on the swallow. Overall - This is well named as it would be a great winter warmer at things like Winterlude (not something one would say about most Wit beers). At 8.3 abv it packs a considerable wallop, and I’m glad they bottled it in the 341ml format. This is yet another excellent Dieu du Ciel offering, with yet another beautiful label as a bonus.

Cinnamon aroma. Clear golden colour with great head. Big hit of cinnamon up front with cloves through the dry finish. Med body and carbonation ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
