Brewed only once a year to keep you warm during the cold winter months, the Blanche Neige (« Snow white ») isn’t your typical wheat beer. Firstly, the level of alochol is surprising and is perceived rapidly both in the bouquet and in the mouth. The spices come through immediately, giving very little room for the usual wheat beer aromas (coriander and curaçao). Cinnamon and clove dominate and the flavours are generously well-rounded thanks no doubt to residual sugars. It is therefore a very sweet beer that is best appreciated slowly.

[5013-20121215] 500mL bottle. Light citrus tangerine perfume aroma. Hazy, light orange brown body with a quick foamy white head. Bitter citrus pine resin hops flavour has quite a pungent citrus pup note. Medium-full body. Interesting but the resin is overpowering. (7/3/7/3/13) 3.3

Another DDC courtesy of Tommy! This one is intense. No pussyfooting this one. Really spiced with tons of clove and a fair amount of sweetness leftover. I get tons of pink bubblegum flavor in this. Tastes like that cheap wax paper covered penny gum. Interesting I suppose but not my fave from DDC.

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2014 Poured a lovely deep orange amber but with only a very thin white head that went quick. Aroma is big wallop of spice with a touch of yeast funk. Tast is overpowering cloves and cinnamon with an incredibly long finish of bitter citrus peel. Medium to full bodied on palate, creamy mouthfeel with dense soft carbonation. Overall... interesting, unique, worth experiencing. But after a while the strength of cloves gets old. Typos corrected, not re-rated.

2012-12-15. Hazy dark yellow, small white head. 3+ Strong spicey aroma, coriander, spice, floral notes. 6+ Flavour has similar strong spice character, coriander, relatively bitter, sweetish pale malt base. Smooth average plus to medium bodied soft carbonation. 3+ Spice character is a bit too strong for me. Bottle aged six months from Au Coin Duluth, Montreal

12oz bottle I received via trade with pushkinwow. Thanks! Pours a hazy, pulpy orange with some soft, lacing white head. Aroma is excellent, lemon grass, cinnamon, all spice, peach, wheat, yeast, ripe fruit. Favor is sweet, fruity, peach, grass, pineapple candies, white pepper, orange zest. Full, sweet finish. Sort of reminds me of a cross between a hef and a tripel. Nice.

Aroma: Cinnamon and clove with tiny bit of hops. Appearance: Rather blond than white, slightly hazy. Creamy head, long lasting, sticking well to glass with a fair lacing. Taste: Attack is explosively spicy with a strong banana accent. Alcohol is giving a round and warm feel. Refreshing also. Spices are very strong and could be more subtle. They are masking all other flavors. Typical winter wittbeer but very spicy.

From a 341ml bottle on 16/11/2012. Pours an opaque golden orange with a smallish head. Has a strong aroma aroma of cloves and cinnamon. The flavour is even stronger, with a huge spiciness bitterness smacking you in the face immediately, and lingering for what seems like forever. You get more cloves and cinnamon, nutmeg, fruit cake, orange peel, with some sweet citrus fruits and little honey balancing things out. The palate is slightly oily. This is an unusual, slightly crazy, incredibly intense and quite impressive brew. A lovely Christmas sipper.

Predominantly Cinnamon, star anise, cloves and orange peel. It’s like a German Christmas cake full of spices or a mix between a wheat beer and Glüwein... I feared this beer would have been difficult to finish because of its aromatic richness and palate sweetness. It is finally not so heavy. I advise you take time to taste it like a great Scotch or a nice glass of sweet wine.

Principally clear light orange, little head. Immediate aromas of cinnamon, clove, yeastfunk. Taste is significantly sweet - cinnamon, clove dominates - tastes a bit like liquid spice cake. Some wheat character. The beer behind gets lost a little, honestly. Nice warming winter drink though.
