COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed only once a year to keep you warm during the cold winter months, the Blanche Neige (« Snow white ») isn’t your typical wheat beer. Firstly, the level of alochol is surprising and is perceived rapidly both in the bouquet and in the mouth. The spices come through immediately, giving very little room for the usual wheat beer aromas (coriander and curaçao). Cinnamon and clove dominate and the flavours are generously well-rounded thanks no doubt to residual sugars. It is therefore a very sweet beer that is best appreciated slowly.

Bottle. Hazy golden with a thick, lasting white head. Aroma is intensely spicy, clove and cinnamon (cloves will always dominate cinnamon), with underlying orange, and on the deep inhale the alcohol is definitely there. Spicy entry, again lots of clove and cinnamon, but the midpalate is supported by generous wheat, and the finish brings lighter orange and cardamom with a surprising amount of bitterness. Mouthfeel is creamy (must be the oats in here?) and leans toward heavy, but it goes down so easily! How can a wheat-based beer be heavy? This one is trying . A terrific "imperialized" witbier.

Draught at Dieu du Ciel! Pours a hazy golden-orange with an average size diminishing white head. Fruity aroma along with spices and mild hops. Flavour’s sweet and yeasty with a good amount of spices, a bit of maple syrup and a light bitter finish. Medium bodied. This is very tasty stuff, I really enjoyed it.

Draft at Bateau Nuit. Hazy yellow, scattered lacing. Smells like fresh wildflowers, sprouted oats. Palate has overripe pale flesh fruit with a nice grapefruit and basil finish. Fun, and fruity, but I’m finding it also messy, yeasty, and all over the place. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

[5013-20121215] 500mL bottle. Light citrus tangerine perfume aroma. Hazy, light orange brown body with a quick foamy white head. Bitter citrus pine resin hops flavour has quite a pungent citrus pup note. Medium-full body. Interesting but the resin is overpowering. (7/3/7/3/13) 3.3

(Rating #2903)

Big sweet, spiced aroma. Apple pie in a glass. Cloudy white body with thick white head. Easy drinking, sweet banana flavour with just enough clove to balance. This is right on. Nice, thick, chewey mouthfeel. On tap.

Creamy, pale and bright body. Enormous, enveloping aroma of cinnamon and cloves and caramel. Very sweet, apple and mince pie flavors, soft and lovely to the tongue. Clean and quick finish that stays with your head and heart long after it has left your tongue. Another wonder-beer from the magician.

Glass at the pub. Amber. Lasting tin white head. Cinamon and cloves dominate the aroma. Creamy spice body. Aromatic spice flavour. Strong spice is not overpowering but you cannot hide from it.

341mL bottle, pours a murky golden orange with a small ring of white head. Nose is full of clove and coriander, with some candied sugar and not really any hint of wheat. Flavour isn’t overly appealing, with lots of perfume and sugary notes, not much of the aforementioned spices. Feels a little flat and dull, with very light carbonation. Way too much of the perfume and sugar, killing any complexity there might have been. Not too good.

Bottle: Poured a clear bright amber color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of strong cinnamon and cloves notes is a bit surprising at first but quite enticing. Taste is a very nice mix between some strong notes of cinnamon and cloves mix in with sweet but not overly so malt backbone. Body is bit thin unfortunately with too much filtration with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I really enjoyed the mix of cinnamon and cloves but my biggest beef with this one is the fact that the body is a bit too thin.
