COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed only once a year to keep you warm during the cold winter months, the Blanche Neige (« Snow white ») isn’t your typical wheat beer. Firstly, the level of alochol is surprising and is perceived rapidly both in the bouquet and in the mouth. The spices come through immediately, giving very little room for the usual wheat beer aromas (coriander and curaçao). Cinnamon and clove dominate and the flavours are generously well-rounded thanks no doubt to residual sugars. It is therefore a very sweet beer that is best appreciated slowly.

341 ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden with a thin white head. Smells like cinnamon, cloved, vanilla. Tastes like cloves, mellow cake and cinnamon. Cinnamon still lingers on in the finish, along with some bitterness and alcohol. Body is full, frothy mouthfeel. Excellent spiced white, although it looked more golden/blonde to me.

Pours cloudy orange with a small, off-white head. On the nose we have a blast of cinnamon and clove followed by nutmeg, ginger, coriander, tree sap, medicinal herbs, orange, tropical fruit esters and a touch of yeast funk. Mouth feel is medium with medium to low carbonation. The taste is pure Christmas: gingerbread cookies, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, orange peel, and brown sugar. There is a nice touch of hoppy bitterness near the end. Finish is long and spicy leaving fresh-baked Christmas goods. The most balanced and enjoyable winter beer I’ve had thus far. A huge hit of spice without it being overwhelming. Very drinkable.

Creamy, pale and bright body. Enormous, enveloping aroma of cinnamon and cloves and caramel. Very sweet, apple and mince pie flavors, soft and lovely to the tongue. Clean and quick finish that stays with your head and heart long after it has left your tongue. Another wonder-beer from the magician.

On Tap, 8% alcohol winter 2004 batch. Cloudy light golden body with a small white head. Huge aroma of spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, coriander), very complex. Cloves and banana remind a good german weizen, but such spices complexity is uncommon outside Belgium. This is a decadent wit that makes you wonder how all those flavours can blend together. Good creamy velvety body. Decadent and flavorful altogether, an imperial wit in which the alcohol remain unnopticeable despite being 8%.

Pours a hazy golden color with a thin white head. Very appealing aroma of cinnamon, clove and citrus. The flavor is excellent with notes of coriander, cinnamon, clove, citrus and yeast, complex and enjoyable. The palate is light and dry with lively carbonation. Another excellent and original beer from DDC.

Bottle. Hazy golden with a thick, lasting white head. Aroma is intensely spicy, clove and cinnamon (cloves will always dominate cinnamon), with underlying orange, and on the deep inhale the alcohol is definitely there. Spicy entry, again lots of clove and cinnamon, but the midpalate is supported by generous wheat, and the finish brings lighter orange and cardamom with a surprising amount of bitterness. Mouthfeel is creamy (must be the oats in here?) and leans toward heavy, but it goes down so easily! How can a wheat-based beer be heavy? This one is trying . A terrific "imperialized" witbier.

Bu sur place, à l’occassion de leur 8e anniversaire, en fut (10 oz). Blonde un peu foncée, petit collet. Arome intéressant d’épice sucré, un peu malté. Goût aussi intéressant de bonbon épicé.

Hazy orangeish hue, with a frothy white head, the nose is spicy, with a suggestions of pepper, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, coriander, yeasty, bready dough, even with a lactic note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate, with a nice spicy character of coriander, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, with a hint of black pepper, with a fruity accent of candied orange peels, the alcoholic notes seem well hidden for 8% bière blanche, leading towards a nice fruity alcoholic and low biterness finish.

Big sweet, spiced aroma. Apple pie in a glass. Cloudy white body with thick white head. Easy drinking, sweet banana flavour with just enough clove to balance. This is right on. Nice, thick, chewey mouthfeel. On tap.

On tap at DDC. Dark yellow, medium white head, looks terrific. Great aroma - very spicy, some dark fruit and sugar. Fantastic taste - tons of yeast, light wheat, ginger, alcohol. Very spicy! Full bodied. Really nice.
