COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed only once a year to keep you warm during the cold winter months, the Blanche Neige (« Snow white ») isn’t your typical wheat beer. Firstly, the level of alochol is surprising and is perceived rapidly both in the bouquet and in the mouth. The spices come through immediately, giving very little room for the usual wheat beer aromas (coriander and curaçao). Cinnamon and clove dominate and the flavours are generously well-rounded thanks no doubt to residual sugars. It is therefore a very sweet beer that is best appreciated slowly.

On Tap, 8% alcohol winter 2004 batch. Cloudy light golden body with a small white head. Huge aroma of spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, coriander), very complex. Cloves and banana remind a good german weizen, but such spices complexity is uncommon outside Belgium. This is a decadent wit that makes you wonder how all those flavours can blend together. Good creamy velvety body. Decadent and flavorful altogether, an imperial wit in which the alcohol remain unnopticeable despite being 8%.

Big thanks to a helpful Quebec BA for this bottle. Pours a murky golden yellow with a very small beige head that recedes to a thin collar quickly. Aroma definitely starts out with spices, lots of cloves and cinnamon. Hints of orange peel as well. Light candi sugar, yeast and some typical wheat characteristics such as bubble gum. Taste also has an initial spicy kick with the cloves dominating with coriander and cinnamon. The backbone is decidedly amped up wheat with Belgian yeast and sweet wheat notes. The finish is sugary sweet mixed with coriander and cloves tingling on the tongue. Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated and fuller than I was expecting, certainly on the fuller side as wheat beers go. I really enjoyed this beer which is essentially a Belgian wit on steroids and Christmas spices. Really good.

From the bottle, Pours a deep amber with creamy white head. Aroma is all spices...cloves, cinnamon, orange zest, almonds. Slightly cloying with a creamy mouthfeel. Lovely Winter warmer.

What an unusual beer but delicious beer. Smells like Christmas in a bottle. Smells like cloves and cinnamon. A bit of banana and bubblegum on the tongue - along with lots of spicy cloves. The alcohol is very well hidden. This beer is a sweet and spicy treat.

Prominent cinammon and cloves aroma. Reminds me of Christmas. Sweet and floral flavour. Quite nice.

Really interesting beer, you really taste the cinnamon and the clove and the beer is still well balanced. Carbonation is okay. I really enjoyed this one, another interesting product from this brewery !

Clear gold……some haze I guess complete with a very thick skiff. Wacky laundry soup aroma, with massive clove, hippie incense and other spicy things. Man I do not dig this aroma, nothing bad but nothing yum yum. Smooth thick feeling brew. Huge soapy perfume flavor with a hint of malty banana. Wheat? Sure why not. Tons of the clove with only mild hints of the cinnamon . Thank for buying this one Jeff I don’t think there’s any way I could have drank the whole bottle.

Thanks to me for buying this. Almost murky golden amber with a small off white bubbly head at a skim level. The aroma is very cool - a mix of fresh aroma laundry soap/ old yoga loft insence / honey, cloves and sweet cinnamon, orange, yoga loft. Very fresh. Maybe ginger me thinks. The taste is very similar with more fragrance, bitterness and heavier announced spice, honey, zip, soapy goodness. Smooth mouth yet I don’t want too much despite my like for it. My cat rules.

Pours cloudy orange with a small, off-white head. On the nose we have a blast of cinnamon and clove followed by nutmeg, ginger, coriander, tree sap, medicinal herbs, orange, tropical fruit esters and a touch of yeast funk. Mouth feel is medium with medium to low carbonation. The taste is pure Christmas: gingerbread cookies, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, orange peel, and brown sugar. There is a nice touch of hoppy bitterness near the end. Finish is long and spicy leaving fresh-baked Christmas goods. The most balanced and enjoyable winter beer I’ve had thus far. A huge hit of spice without it being overwhelming. Very drinkable.

Very interesting beer. I wouldn’t expect anything less from DDC. Pours cloudy, gold with a faint reddish tinge. Aroma is cinnamon, clove and coriander. Taste is light, crisp, nice malt coupled with the cinnamon and clove. Spice tint is not overpowering, refreshing.
