A heck of a porter, on tap a Bar Hop 2nd day late on tap. Black, head, great roast and hops aroma and delivers on taste.

On tap at Mondial de la Bière (Montréal, QC). Very dark brown body with average, lasting, beige foamy head. Strong malty/hoppy aroma with roasted coffee hints. Its robust taste is dominated by roasty flavors. It carries yeasty and some subtle chocolate notes. Ends with a long bitter/roasty finish. Well done.

Pours jet black with a few fingers of dense tan head. Lots of moca, coffee and chocolate aromas and flavours. This is an excellent porter.

[Cask at ’Cask Days 2013’.] Beer #2 of the fest. Pours black with amber hues with a small long-lasting bubbly light-brown head. Really roasty aroma of malt and coffee along with some lactic notes, chocolate and light leafy hops -- quite nice. Interesting and big flavour, it’s boozy, roasty and quite bitter with a lot of coffee, some chocolate, cream, lots of leafy hops and a finish that is a touch harsh. Medium bodied, almost syrupy mouthfeel. An interesting beer that I wasn’t sure what style it was supposed to be but overall, I enjoyed it.

Cask Days 2013. I think this was my highlight beer of the festival. Jet black pour, with a big rocky, mocha head. The aroma is intoxicating! So much roast! roast, roast, and more roast. Bitter burnt, charred espresso malts. A huge dose of solid piney hope. Incredible! Carb and mouth feel as spot on.The finish is just more roast, and kick ass pine hops. Incredible stuff.

On cask at Beau’s Octoberfest. Light black pour with an off white head. Huge peat and smoke nose that assaults (in a good way) the senses without being meaty, very dry, some ash and tabacco, mild carbonation, moderate body, smooth, bit of chocolate, very dry, bitter and tasty.

A deep dark viscous stout with a very thin mocha head. In aroma, a nice bitter chocolate with tobacco notes, coffee and molasses. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with oily mouth feel, coffee grind, alcohol warmth, very good. Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest 2013.

On tap at 15th anniversary. Opaque black pour, thin head. Aroma is quite roasty, lots of toasted malt, light chocolate notes, rich malty flavor, very toasty, nice strong bitter hop finish, subtle but constantly present hop flavor, a touch of pine. Very good.

This is wonderful. Pours dark brown with good head and lacing. Aroma of piney hops, very pungent musky roast aroma and coffee. Some nuttiness in here as well as a little caramel. Booze well hidden. Soft carbonation with stiff bitter finish. Thick texture. Tap at Barhop.
