Bottle from Halles St-Jean. Aroma: toast, roasted malt, coffee, ashy. App: pitch black with small beige head. Taste and palate: full body, medium sweetness, long lightly smokey, bitter and alcohol finish. Overall: really well done, the palate is quite something: it’s sweet then well balanced between the smoke, bitter and the alcohol.

Bottle: Poured a dark black color porter with nice brown foamy head with good retention and some good amount of lacing. Aroma consists of huge amount of roasted malt with quiet a bit of chocolate notes. Taste is also dominated by loads of roasted malt notes with some chocolate notes and light dry finish with some green hops notes. Body is tad thinner then I was expecting with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Loads of flavors with an overall dry taste but avoiding the astringency territory.

Wow!

341 ml bottle from Marche Omni, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Deep brown-black with a nice dark tan head. Aroma: Rich dark maltiness with plenty of coffee, dark chocolate, lightly nutty, molasses and dark bread crust, light vague fruitiness, very roasty. Palate: Medium++ body, moderate+ carbonation, powdery. Flav.: More dark-roasted maltiness with lots of coffee, dark cacao, lightly nutty, some resinous hops, bread crust; dry with slight tang, fairly big bitterness and a long, dark-roasted malt finish.

Black as heck in this imperial pint glass. Fuck u, get waxed. Roasty and ashy on the nose. Slightly earthy and leafy. Flavor is a touch on the bitter side. A lot of roast, coffee grounds, and licorice. Slightly ashy. A little bit of tea and roasted nuts. Not bad.
