11.5 oz. bottle shared by DrSilverworm - thanks again, Chris! Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a small tan head that settles into a wispy film and ring with some spots of lace in the glass. Notes of toasted and roasted malts, burnt brown sugar, candied nuts, earthy hops, and a bit of floral and citrus zest. There’s also a faint hockey puck note in the aroma. Light-medium bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a toasty, roasty, bitter mouthfeel. Good beer.

Pours black with low tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, vanilla, coffee, muscovado. Taste is vanilla and milk chocolate, dark chocolate bitter finish. Body is (too) light but creamy and smooth.

11.5 oz bottle shared by DrSilverworm. Pours a clear reddish cola brown color with a small disappearing beige head. The aroma and flavor have chocolate, hazelnut, roast, coffee, earthy bitterness, the hop character is there but more earth general bittering rather than distinct flavors, nice finish. Definitely more porter than black IPA.

11.5oz bottle, big thanks to mathieuc for sending this during Free Beer Week. Notches are 0-2, bottled 01/15. Shared with phaleslu and alexsdad06. Wow, awesome big aroma, much more complex than expected. Hazelnut, touch of smoke, vanilla, earthy hop, some piney spicy hop. Good coffee. Moderate-plus sweet taste, light to moderate bitter. Good bit of earthy hop, but it’s not like a black IPA (which is more what I was expecting). Hazy dark brown color. Thin darker tan head, leaving good bits and dots and ropes of lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Light slick. Really interesting, tasty porter. Much more complex than expected.

Excellent. (Version à 6,3% Embouteillée en Janvier 2015) (1395-060415)
