Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

Keg at BD Camden, 30/09/14. Rich amber with a well appointed beige covering that retains. Nose is caramel malt, blood orange, grapefruit, pine, light spice. Taste is caramel malt forward, piney lickings, candied fruit peel, bitter orange wash, grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid malt driven IPA with a good pine bite.

taster on tap @ Ei8ht Ball / Bellevue KY --- Clear dark amber with a thin rim head, isolated dots of lace. Taste is caramel malt that adds bittering deep in the palate, moving deftly to a well-balanced finish. So simple, yet so satisfying. A solid brew from 8-Ball.

Bottled on september 4th, 2014. 341ml Reddish amber color with a little head.Earthy and grass aromas with caramel. Pine and caramel tastes with lightly citrus (orange) at the end. Nice bitter finish that paralyzed the palate slightly. Good beer for all occasions ! Rating # 59

Pours amber. Aroma of pine and citrus, but also some honey and blueberry. Tastes of the same: really nice balance between the elements, with extra sweetness. Oily mouthfeel. Really nice.

Bottle at the Red Squirrel. Appearance - amber with a decent head. Nose - biscuits and toffee just a touch of lime. Some spice and earthiness and even a root vegetable thing. Taste - lemon and biscuits up front then they come together at the end in good balance like a key lime pie. Palate - medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - I like this because of the layers of different things going on. It’s not just a citrus bomb.

On tap at the brewpub. A redish copper pour with a herbal orange hop bouquet. The taste is a very malty bitter piney caramel with a bit of a woodsy quality. It is a good but simple IPA.

Bottle. Looks like liquid caramel. Tan and brown. Aroma is pine and earthy hops with sweet sugary malt tones. The taste follows suit with a lot of caramel up front, and bitter pine In the middle. Black coffee unexpectedly comes in on the aftertaste. Rich syrupy mouthfeel with medium carb. Definitely a full bodied malty English style ipa all the way. Great brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour at Toronto Ratebeer Westside vs Eastside Rumble is dark as oak & offers a minimal cap. Taste is woody malts. Hopping seems surprising flat. Gets more interesting as the glass settles but slightly misses the mark for me.
