May 1, 2008 Bottle. Rich copper-amber beer with a nice dark cream coloed head. Grapefruit and caramel aroma with a bit of summer fruit and woodsiness. Nice grapefruit, pine, woodsy flavor with backing malt. Nice bitterness. Grapefruit, pine, caramel lingers. More to it than a pure PNW hop bomb. Tea or maybe begemot starts to show up and really come forward as you drink more.

Apr 28, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a clear, orange-amber color; textured light-tan head with great retention and foamy lacing; great pour. Solid amounts of candy sugar, earthy and citrus hops, and pecans in the aroma; some tea; interesting stuff. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: creamy, lightly carbonated feel; resiny citrus and orange; zesty, tasty IPA. Medium finish: oranges, toastiness, and some husks.

Apr 28, 2008 bottle. Pours deep amber with a medium sized off-white head. Fragrant grapefruity hop aroma with some caramel malt in the background. Nice citric hop flavor with some pine needles, caramel, toffee and honey notes. Long, resinous hop finish. Very enjoyable; well crafted and not too over-the-top.

Apr 27, 2008 11.5 oz bottle. Clear orange brown with a coating bone skin. Nose is orange zest and toffee; light grass. Almost medium with soft resin and a nice stinging carb. Taste is carmelized orange, tea, pink grapefruit and rose petals. Dry finish with peppery pine.

Apr 27, 2008 Tasting - Perfect Pour - Dark amber, creamy off white head. Rich caramel nougat and peachy pine aromas warm to soft honey spruce notes. Sugared fruity and pine hop flavors balance on a bready caramel backbone from start to finish. Loads of hop flavor without any bite. Medium bodied with pillow soft carbonation. A very different, but tasty IPA...

Apr 26, 2008 Pours dark amber orange with a 1/4 inch tan head. Nose is instant crystal malt, doughy, nutty, bready, etc, along with some light nut and dried fruit hop notes that are overwhelmed by the crystal malt. Flavor is much the same: overwhelming presence of crystal malt, which has no place whatsoever in IPA, and then as background noise only are some light fruity hop notes, some peanut notes, etc, and only a mild bitterness. Not my cup of tea.

Apr 25, 2008 Bottle, thanks to MaxxDaddy and puzzl. A hazy orange-brown color, with some white film on top. Some rich caramel malt, sugar, citrus hops, and some strange hops in the aroma. The flavor is similar, sweet and rich malt at first with some citric underpinnings; later the malt is dryer and a little grainy. Slightly earthy / grassy bitterness in the finish.

Apr 24, 2008 Bottle from SL. The pour was full red-amber, excellent initial head, ok retention, solid lacing. The aroma was full caramel and floral hops. The flavor was a hearty caramel malty base (with an almost gritty texture, hearty indeed), ample hops, floral and pine most prominent, but fruity citrus elements in there too. A decent brew, but too pricey to seek out again here in the States.
