Commercial Description:
An American-style I.P.A. The Corne du Diable is a contemporary adaptation of the original English Pale Ales. This interpretation of the style, born on the North American west coast, is caracterised by stronger and much hoppier beers. The result is a caramel flavoured, full-bodied red ale, with sharp bitterness and powerful aromas thanks to our dry hopping technique.

12 oz bottle, via puzzl. Pours a deep copper body with a slight yeast haze under a sturdy tight bubbled beige head that had excellent retention. Nice crisp citrusy and slightly piney hoppiness over a toasted caramel malt body. Very well balanced in the aroma, a nice light nuance of yeast. Big bitterness up front dominates and grabs your attention quickly, but it fades nicely as you reach the finish, showing off it’s big malt backbone with just a subtle lingering bitterness. This is really a showcase for the dry hopping technique, so bright and hoppy, but not harsh in the slightest. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied for the style with a great creamy texture and perfect soft bottle conditioned carbonation. Wow, this was just a fantastic beer!

Red-copper, beige head. Fruity, grassy aroma. Piney/citrus hop aroma. Sweet; medium bitterness, crystal sweetness, dry bitterness in the finish.

11.5 oz bottle. Pours a good medium amber with a decent carbonation and a thick foamy white head and cool lace. Aroma is citrus hops, cascade, light metiallic from the cascade, lightsoapiness, god caramel malt backbone an some classic DdC earthy yeastiness which I like- almos therb and marijuana like. Flavor is more cascade metallic cat pee hops, mild caramel malt backbone, earth, more cattiness, light lemon rind, citrus even some lime-ade. Decent bitter character and good mouthfeel. Bitterness isnt as refined as I hoped and becomes a bit soapy. Nice solid IPA.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep dark amber color with a medium sized lasting beige head. The aroma is a fairly heavy dose of sweet fruity hops with a bit of malt to back everything up. The flavor opens with nice citrus hops with an emphasis on orange and grapefruit. There is caramel malt to back up and somewhat balance the hops. The fruitiness disappears by the end giving way to a more general bitterness. Medium bodied and very drinkable.

Pours a beautiful dark amber with a tall, thick off-white head. Very sweet hoppy aroma of caramel and brown sugar. The initial taste is very sweet caramel malt and powerful, but it falls into a week body that leaves you ill prepared for the very bitter hop finish. The finish lingers nicely and both elements of the flavor are solid, the body just needs to be built up to the standards of this beer.

6-24-08 bottle thanks to BlackForestCO (thanks Jakey!)
Thick brown with a nice creamy beige head and light watery lacing. Smell is fruity and hoppy and grassy with perhaps some rye or orange rind notes in there. Some caramel shows up in the finish. Nice palate. Overall, quite drinkable.
