JPDIPSO (4178), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA May 10, 2008 Slightly hazed ruddy copper color with a tall beige head. My initial sniff leads me to believe that this is a simple strong amber. What ever grain is utilized I find it in many ambers and I am not a fan. Woody licorice comes to mind. Some light orange citric qualities join in. Graham cracker flavors topped with some orange jam. Fairly thin in feel. Long citric finish along with a hint of metal. Best I can call this is a strong amber.

A good beer from Don du Ciel, but my least favorite so far. Would try another for a second review. EithCubes (1715), Indiana, USA Jul 4, 2008 Bottle. Luscious, really overpoweringly fragrant hoppy scent, lovely flowers and lychee, pine, orange, grapefruit and thick caramel. Ruby-amber pour with a beige/lightly tanned head. Light body is extremely bitter but manageable enough to quickly come back for a second sip. Taste is out-and-out crackery, with a little funk and more citrus. There’s an herbal note off to the side, the earthy/flowery caramel remains, but the floral fruit has largely subsided. Pine also trailed off a bit, but there’s a bergamot note there that’s just exquisite. To echo some of the sentiments expressed below, great hop profile but disappointingly lightweight. k4df4l (132), DTown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 Aroma: Citrusy & resinous hops supported by sweet caramel malt. Appearance: Hazy amber with a 1/4 inch of tan foam. Flavor: Sweet and spicy with ample bitterness up front. More spicy/herbal/pine hop flavors in the middle with a burnt sugar background. Dry, lightly puckering finish. Medium body and carbonation. Overall I really enjoyed this from start to the bottom of the glass...the flavor was interesting and quite refreshing. Imaena (145), Portland, Maine, USA Jun 25, 2008 Draught @ Mondial 08’
Deep amber body. Well balanced hops an light tangy malts. Interesting IPA. JB175 (1260), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 25, 2008 Golden color with a light citrusy hop aroma. Flavor gas some mild citric "C" hops with some bready-sweet malts. Medium mouthfeel. OK, but not really impressive.
