COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

Funny how when a country other than the US says their beer is an American style IPA it is usually way off. This beer is good and tasty, but to compare this to west coast IPA is ridiculous. Aroma was big and full. Strong caramel and toffee smell that is actually thick. Pour was was a milky dark brown with a one finger head. Taste was all malt. Strong caramel and chewy toffee took center stage. The bitterness comes out in the finish to balance out the malty sweetness but doesn’t really taste hoppy, just bitter. This isn’t a bad beer, though. Nice carbonation make it easy to drink.

Swietne dekadenckie piwo.

Bottle. Deep amber, clear. Dark caramels, pines. Orange peel, yeasty fruityness. Soft mouthfilling body. Lots of slight sweet malty caramels. Piney hops. Bit dark, piney resinous drink. Well balanced though. Can’t say I don’t like it.

Pours reddish brown with a moderate white head. Pretty thick lacing left behind. Aromas are citrus, leaning towards grapefruit. Tastes are balanced, but more toward caramelly malts than the hop side of the fence. Overall between the hops, the malts, the bitterness and the sweetness, I’m not sure you can ask for a more balanced beer.

On tap @ Dieu du Ciel, Montreal - Canada. Color: clear amber beer with small carbonation and small ivory foam. Smell: nice hoppy nose really intensive. Grassy and floral. Taste: nice sweet hoppy taste, intensive and fresh. Aftertaste: wet bitterness and caramel note

Bottle from whole foods. Pours murky brown with very little head. A truly ugly beer. The aroma has a bit of hop presence but has almost a candy sugar and caramel dominance. The taste is light bitter but dominated by sweetness.

Dark, clear amber liquid with a lasting white head. Malty, hoppy, earthy aroma. Bit of caramel. Taste is malt and piney hops. Grassy too. Nice bitter after taste. Excellent IPA.

11.5oz bottle into Le Duvel - nose is nutty. Date is 5/5 and not helpful. I imagine this is old based on the nuttiness but it is still bitter. Yum yum.

Backlog. Tried it a number of times. Dominated by caramel and pine(y)-hop aromas. Fantastically balanced, one of my favourite IPAs all-time.

Aroma is hoppy and malty, tastes like an IPA but with a typical caramel malt profile from the red ale side. Good!
