Deep hazy, chunky copper/brown coloured body with a thinnish tan head - wierd for an IPA! Aroma of metal, fresh hops, caramel, nuts and a bit of pine. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive hops up front with no backbone, just showing a pale grassy and pine hop flavour. Aftertaste shows some caramel, a bit of metal and a bitter malt flavour. Overall, a strong, sharp and potent IPA - not showing enough hops, rather more malt and a bit of sweetness. Decent to try, but I prefer more of an American-style IPA. I sampled this 330 mL bottle purchased from Ramsey Liquors in Ramsey, New Jersey on 19-January-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 29-January-2009.

Bottle. Clear light brown-garnet body with a large off-white head. Complex aroma-biscuit, resinous hops, caramel, alcohol. Taste-resinous hops, woody, floral with a significant biter finish. Medium bodied.

En glad överraskning. En kraftig, karamellig och fruktig IPA, väl avvägd mellan sötma och beska.

Beskan är så framträdande och intensivt närvarande att det bara är en tidsfråga innan den gör solokarriär. Väldigt lite rampljus fördelas till den övriga ensemblen av smaker. Om samspelet var lite tätare och mer lyhört hade betyget skjutit iväg som en raket.

Pours red brown with low head Aromas of brown sugar, red ale malts, Nice hoppy taste, medium bitter, medium sweet, brown sugarisch. Well done!

Brownish red with a generous tan head and very nice lace. Grassy hops and grapefruit aromas with a subtle metallic note that is a bit off-puting. Flavors are similar, bitter hops up front above a solid caramel malt foundation, but the metallic notes are still there. Medium body, plenty of effervescence, slight alcohol warmth and a clean bitter finish.

On tap at La Souche (Quebec City). Pours copper red with a long lasting white head. Aroma: citrus, hops and spices. Taste is well balanced, with a really good bitterness. An excellente IPA. En pinte à La Souche (Québec). Robe cuivrée avec un collet blanc persistant. Arômes: agrumes, houblon et épices. Goût bien balancé, bonne amertume. Une excellente IPA.

Dark amber pour with a nice amount if head. Big caramel malt aroma mixed with toffee, red fruit, and flowers. Really nice. Big caramel malt and toffee taste up front, then some strong bitterness, finishing with a hoppy dry aftertaste. Love this beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy copper-amber with a medium tan head that dissipates quickly with good lacing. Strong toasted malt aroma, plus almost floral hop notes. Taste is slightly sweet, caramel malt plus strong bitter hops, citrus and pine. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Definitely a maltier brew than your typical west coast IPA, but still a strong hops presence and a very satisfying pour.

Pours a very hazy amber, Aroma is Very English IPA, toffee, piney hops, and grainy with some sugar. Taste is very grainy, Caramel malts, lots of toffee some slight citrus, little hoppy bitterness but not much. Medium body, slightly grainy texture. Pretty good stuff.

Bottle at home. Hazy amber with a large beige head, nice lacings. Aroma medium malty (caramel, roasted, dark fruits) and hoppy (citrus, peach). Flavor medium sweet, heavy bitter, a bit spicy of dry hopping. Medium body. Really nice.
