For a scottish ale, it could use more "smokeyness". It is really a session ale, light enough on the body, relatively low hopping although the bitterness is somewhat arresting (a common trait amongst DDC beers).

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2004 Cousin to their Première Communion, a quaffable caramel sweetness floating on a touch of citrus...Hop bitterness surreptitiously surfaces in the end and balance is attained...Needs a cask...
