COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is topped with an eternally compact foam and has a wonderfully intense roasted smell with a hint of chocolate. It’s well-rounded and its taste is dominated by roasted flavours which are in symphony with a choir of hops.

Black, with brown head. Aroma was a little faint: coffee beans and chocolate. The flavour was well-roasted with a nice balanced hop profile, though maybe a little lacking here. Thick, full bodied. A good stout. Draught.

Dark and opaque with a tan nitro head. Lightly roasted aroma is somewhat passified by the nitro tap. Body is sweet, but somewhat thin with a nice subtle dark fruit flavor. Very smooth roasty finish as well. A good, very drinkable stout.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2008 2008-05-30. Nice khaki head and lacing atop a black body. (4+) Roasty aroma with touches of coffee and hint of smoke. Very mild mocha. Flavour is much more bitter than I recall. Dry roast with unpleasant ashtray and bitter tobacco notes in the finish. Average palate is not the rich creamy weight I remembered. Odd. Hopefully this was a wonky sample and not a change in recipe. 7/5/6/3/12 - 3.3 Draft, Dieu Du Ciel, Montreal<P> October 2003. Black with a tan head, roasty and very coffee like to my palate. Body was decent but could be fuller. 6/4/7/2/14 - 3.3

Espresso head with black body. Aroma is medium sweet chocolate, lighter coffee. Taste is sweet coffee. Think Breyers coffee ice cream, with a trifle more bitterness, and you've got it. Creamy, fairly full body.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2005 Chocolatey and coffee aroma. Thin brown head with dense bubbles. Almost black opaque body. Big chocolate flavour with lots of roasted and dark malts very apparent but no astringency. Very full-bodied. A wonderful sweet stout. On tap.

Black. Creamy, light brown head. Rich, roasty nose of burnt coffee & bitter chocolate. Soft, thick, velvety feel. Complex flavour of dark roasted grains w/ lovely notes of sweet (milk?) chocolate.
