hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Jan 3, 2009 Bottle. Huge very fizzy white head with poor retention, very nice lacing, lively, fast rising carbonation, hazy, and a yellow hue. The aroma was very nice-malty, yeasty, hoppy, floral, fruity, and spicy. The flavor was sweet, malty, hoppy, spicy, fruity, and a short dry finish. The mouthfeel was mostly smooth and slightly tingly and medium bodied. A nicely balance beer, easy to drink, refreshing on a warm Indiana summer day, worth a try, would definitely drink this again. More please! armando629 (954), Budapest, Hungary Jan 2, 2009 Thanks MartinT! Nice hazy golden appearance with freaky sediment, medium white lacing head. Fantastic aroma of hops, resin, some caramel and fruits. Resiny mouthfeel too with hop, some citrus and orange peel taste, fine malt in the background. Dry hoppy finish, aftertaste. Yes, the beer is a mix of belgian and english brewing traditions. Fine! carruthm (1111), Seattle, Washington, USA Jan 2, 2009 pale yellow color with a big head, the aroma is somewhat antiseptic with mild clover and honey aromas and some obvious hops. The taste reminds me of a glacier spring that a spruce tree fell into. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jan 1, 2009 Bottle thanks to gethinbeer. Pale golden amber beer. Aroma is lovely. Soft zesty hop aroma. A light Belgiany maltiness and a bit of light bubble gum aroma as well. There is a bit of zesty hop aroma along with a bit of citrus. A kiss of lemon peel and a light perfumy zestiness. Fruity and lightly spicy hops. Earthy/herbal hops over a touch of crackery character. Quite spicy and herbal with a fairly hoppy finish. This is really lovely, complex stuff. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Dec 31, 2008 12 oz bottle. Hazy blonde in color with a medium to large lasting white head. Aroma is phenolicy, bready, and earthy belgian yeast with a touch of esters, vanilla and earthy hops. Taste is lightly estery and moderately phenolic with alot of bready pils malt, mild citrus, vanilla. Moderately hoppy with a smooth bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied, slightly creamy texture. This one of the best belgian pales I’ve had. sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA Dec 27, 2008 Bottle: Pours a hazy gold with a mediumish white head. Aroma, bananas, bubble gum, some pepper, cloves. Flavor, bready, yeast, fruity notes, bananas, wheat, cloves. L alcool vient rechauffer un peu. Bonne.
Spicy (clove and pepper) and fruity (bananas, ananas). Warming feeling form the alcohol. Good. Syd (888), Waconia, Minnesota, USA Dec 20, 2008 Bottle pours hazed orange yellow with a monster Belgian head and cobwebs of lace. The aroma is banana and peaches, yeast, spice, cloves, and some hops. The flavor is banana clove, coriander, with a bitter finish. The palate is pretty rich and somewhat still under all the foam. Overall, I like it well enough.
