OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA Aug 9, 2009 I had this one with my good buddy J. Poured a cloudy golden with a quickly dissipating white head. Smells very fruity and flowery, almost overbearing. The taste was just as putrid and it had a dry finish. I wasn’t a big fan of this junk. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 6, 2009 Sampled at vt brewfest 09. Pours a cloudy yellow/orange with a small white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, fruit, citrus and floral. Flavor was yeasty with citrus fruit and some spiciness with a medium body and has a dry finish. marcus (1826), Sacramento, California, USA Aug 5, 2009 Bottle at the Monk’s Kettle S.F. This golden ale poured with a decent white head and a floral aroma. Lots of floaties. The flavor is caramel malt with a nice yeast presence, subtle hop bitterness and a dry finish. beerbill (1919), Laurel, New York, USA Aug 4, 2009 11.5 oz. bottle. Pours a very hazy gold with a thin-moderate linen white head that faded to a thick ring after the first two sips and lingered to the end, leaving partial lace. There are a lot of white chunks floating about, not just some little specks but fairly substantial pieces as well. It really doesn’t look all that appetizing. The aroma is very nice with lots of Belgian yeast, lemon, and floral notes. The flavor is nowhere near as bright and lovely as the aroma. Initially, there is some muted Belgian yeast, however, this is overrun by a considerable dose of hot black pepper. Hot, bitter and very dry at the finish. This beer is definitely not for me. jimhilt (1664), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Jul 28, 2009 Updated: Jul 29, 2009Pours a five finger off-white head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Cloudy amber color with a ton of yeast floating. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Belgian yeast nose. Flavor is citrus and Belgian yeast with light grapefruit aftertaste. $4.29 for a 11.5oz bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, VT. SuIIy (1406), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Jul 18, 2009 12oz bottle...pours a cloudy, opaque golden yellow color with a thick white foamy head. Leaves nice lacing on the glass. Head is quite large then receeds to about a finger. nose is lovely, sweet but somewhat floral notes, a light ricey kind of graininess in the nose as well. Palate is full and thick with a very nice velvet/fluffyness about it, but not airy. fairly flat for the amount of bubbles that race through the beer. Flavor is grainy with some light sweetness but it really is quite dry. Some spiciness as well. TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Jul 17, 2009 Bottle. Clear amber pour with a tall, sturdy white head. Aroma is very floral and spicy with dried fruit notes, candy, yeast and perfume. Taste is big yeast notes, dusty malts, big flower notes, perfume, candy, fruit, peppery spices and bitter hops. Body is light and very bubbly. Lots of carbonation to this. Very dry overall. Ends with more spices, fresh cut flowers, bitter hops, Belgian yeast notes, light honey, perfume, dried fruit, dusty malt, and herbal notes. mikalooch (158), , New Jersey, USA Jul 15, 2009 Bottle. Nice golden pour with a thin white head. Sweet candy yeast with spice in the nose. Pepper and hops at the forefront with a nice Belgian yeast undertone, finishes a bit tart.
