Oakes (8080), gone rambling, Vietnam Jul 18, 2005 Updated: Sep 19, 2008Cloudy golden. Big phenols are plasticy but somehow good. Pear, alcohol, white pepper, complex fruits and peach. Taste is medium sweet, honey, herbal, light pepper. Light-medium body with some dryness in the finish. thewolf (5662), Kolding, Denmark Sep 11, 2009 Bottle, bought @ Havnens Vin & Tobak, Vejle.
Pours muddy pale yellow with a wonderulf, creamy, white head. Aroma is wonderful. Wheaty sweetness, lemons, ginger, yeast, oranges and cloves. Light bretty notes. Highish carbonation, fine and light mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, and it almost feels like a Saison. Pepper, ginger, yeast, wheat, oranges, lemons, banana, green apple and cloves - and just the right amount of hops. Wonderful. Rastacouere (5552), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 4, 2004 Clear straw golden body with gentle off-white head. Aroma is very piney, mineralic with grassy and leafy green hop tones. Spicy mint and lemongrass fruitiness (pears, oranges). Superb balance between dry-hopping and the belgian ale serving as fundation. Loads of grassy hops, lemon, mild apples and white grapefruit, yeasty. Delicate balance imo. Body could be bigger though, but the moderately high carbonation fits well. Coating aftertaste, bitter, sprucey. Very interesting.
