Poured a fairly clear and light orange with a powerful and huge white head. The aroma is spices, apple, and some citrus. The flavor is dominated by a zesty and spicy sweet malt, with tons of spices and a nice somewhat bitter hop finish. A very nice Belgian Ale. Less yeasty and more hoppy than most. I could drink a ton of this. nickd717 (1415), Palo Alto, California, USA

Bottle. Pours a hazy sticky looking amber with a large creamy white head. Sweet fruit, pears, candy, honey. Medium bodied, but a little empty. Not much of the nice aromas carry over into the body. Some light candy maltiness, and a nice quinine like bitter at the end.

Appearance: Nice golden hue with hints of amber. Sudsy white head which grips the Duvel tulip. Lots of particles even though a gentle pour.
Nose: Banana peel, spicy yeast notes, a little white pepper, sweet orange.
Palate: Moderately carbonated given the conditioning. Wow! Spicy on the back, lots of black and white pepper notes dancing with some earthy and fruity flavors. Green banana, leaves (wet and dried), tree bark, and some citrus. A really dry finish.
Notes: Wasn’t impressed right up until I put the beer in my mouth. Aroma/appearance were decent enough, but the spicy pepper thing on the palate really won me over. The finish is a little odd, and reduces some of the "drinkabilitly." A good beer. rwaters (27), Anchorage, Alaska, USA
