COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Équinoxe du Printemps (French for "spring equinox") is the quintessential marriage of two great traditions: beer brewing in Scotland, and maple syrup production in Quebec. At the first draught, the mouth is overcome by woody, malty flavours, sustained by a discrete touch of sweetness. The aftertaste brings about the flavours of maple, which are sufficiently present to be appreciated, but never overwhelming the typical flavours of a Scotch Ale.

Equinoxe du printemps is brewed only once a year in January. It is aged for two months in order to attain a perfect balance in taste. Then, it is sold starting March 21st, until stocks last.

Bottle @ home. Pours dark amber to dark red with a nice, lasting tan head. Sweet and fruity aroma with distinct syrup notes on a malty sweet base. Notes of caramel, marmalade, dark fruits, tofee, wood, flowers and herbs. Really nice. Smooth texture with medium carbonation. Initially the taste is sweet and deep malty with tofee, marmalade, red fruits, bergamot, syrup and dark bread. Duration is medium with an adrupt transition into a quite dry and bitter finish with lingering wood, grapefruit and bitter orange zest. Aftertaste is spicy with lingering bitterness and some booze. Really nice but will probably get better by mellowing out with some additional aging.

Taken for what it truly is, Quebec maple syrup with which has a unique and distinctive feature blended with a rich full flavor of silk smooth scotch. This is a true one of a kind beer created to stand on its own. Do not mistaken Quebec maple syrup for the store bought sugar water, this is the real deal. The aroma is sweet and prominent, appearance may look thick like the maple syrup it’s made with however it is smooth as can be gently coating the tongue and palate with the love and attention that was put into it.

A very dark brown, a small bubbled head is medium and beige. Aroma is complex and quite sweet, richness of malts, toffee, red currants and berries, some wood. Taste is rich, strong maltyness, wood, mable syrup, drying bitterness, hint of berries. Not so sweet, good balance. Almost full bodied, warming in the throat. Interesting and good beer.
