Bottle: Poured a murky dark pink color ale with a medium size bubby head with limited retention. Aroma of tart and sour blackberry notes with refreshing funky notes. Taste is a nice mix of sour and tart blackberry notes with some light barnyard notes and some light fruity notes are also noticeable. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation. I love the mix between funky notes and blackberry. Good balance overall.

My Bottom Line:
Blackberries and citrus fruit suffuse this brew’s bacterial acidity, building a quenching, characterful Sour Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the cloudy pink.
-The blackberries are harmonious with the acidifying bacteria.
-Drinkability is actually high despite the intensity of the sourness.
-This is not as complex as some fruited lambics, to give you an idea, yet I have the impression the flavor profile is more cohesive because of the more restrained funkiness.

[7686-20150919] Tap. Barrel wood and cherry fruit and other berries in the aroma along with a hint of an old cigar box. Funky blackberry fruity juice flavour has quite a sour funk to it. Medium body. Tasty. (8/3/8/4/16) 3.9+

750ml bottle shared with Jo. Aroma: ripe apples and a tad of blackberries. App: hazy dark pink, purple-ish with orange tint. Taste and palate: thin body, moderate carbonation, medium acidity / vinegar finish. Overall: more fruits in mouth and carbonation than the regular version and more acidity coming from blackberries. Enjoyed it more than the regular version.

Just lovely. A very delicate and wine esque brew. Pours a light plum and pink colour in the body with a thin, spritzy off white head with a solid carbonation in the body. The nose is fruity, lightly tannic and funky with brett and farm notes filling the aroma. Soft brettanomyces with a light fruity sweetness and tart, sour lacto notes. The front of the profile is delicate with a light creamy and fruit note; plums, raspberries and grapes. The finish has a pinch of bitterness with a lingering sourness in moderation. Barrel flavour is well melded in with a delicious profile overall. One of the best beers ever from DDC!

Draught@Moeder Lambic, Brussels. Deep reddish amber colour with a small pink head. Aroma is Kriek, some mild tart wooden and sour notes along with some vinegar. Flavour is cherries, dry wood, some vinegar and mild notes of nectar to it. Nice tart wooden aftertaste.
