3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 glennmastrange (1638) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - APR 25, 2012
Tap, nitro charged. Moderate malt aromas of cereal, roasted, caramel and postum. light herbs for the hops, with a hint of paper. Head is average size, smooth and creamy, off white with good yet sinking with the tide type lacing, and leaves a fully lasting raft. Color is clear orangey-reddish-tan. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is medium, creamy with a soft almost flat carbonation. One of the best Cream Ales I’ve had. Nice malt presence and everything else nice and mellow.

on tap at bateau de nuit, qc. clear copper-red with a generous white head, excellent retention and lacing. toasted malts, some caramel malts, dry-fruitiness, light grassy-citrusy hopping. light acidity. very soft carbonation, medium body, relatively short citrusy finish.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Metalchopz (1428) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 19, 2011
Originally rated November 2008. Enjoyed at the brewpub itself. Had a nice creamy head with very good retention and beautiful thick lacing. Its colour was on the copper side. Aromas are malty, but not too strong. Crisp and creamy mouthfeel. The taste was very nice on the hoppy side with fruity flavours all along, a dry aftertaste with caramel malt standing out. Overall, a superbe take on the Irish cream ale with a head that remained all along.

Draught - April 22, 2009 - at Dieu du Ciel. Why is this ALWAYS a boring style? Is it the nitro? Anyway ... Cloudy, almost murky reddish-amber with a solid creamy off-white head (3+). Simple aroma, grainy and slightly fruity maltiness with no alcohol to speak of - boring, but clean (6-). The taste is ... okay - very sweet, with a sharp pungency to the malt I usually associate with extract brews (this is NOT extract-brewed) - it left a tangy residue on my tongue, almost battery-licking zingy, which actually helped downplay the almost confectioner’s sugar sweetness - there might even be a hint of floral bitterness hovering about the edges, but the jury’s out on that. Solid body, mild carbonation, with a sweet finish - meh.
3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 garthicus (2089) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 12, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Appearance: initial nitro settle ending in a ruby red body with a large white creamy head. Aroma: lightly grassy at first, nitro almost destroys all aroma. Some malt lightly detectable there too. Flavour: quite a lot of malt initially with a sudden hop kick, some nuttiness and toastiness there too. Has a long dry finish.

Une pinte sur place. Robe rouge-cuivre, ronde en bouche, peu de houblon, mousse crémeuse et longue. Bonne cream ale dans la mesure où les cream ale ne sont pas mes bières préférées.
