COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Alt is a classic German ale from the Düsseldorf region. It has dark copper colours which can be reminiscent of English Pale Ales. By using a different type of yeast, the aromas are less fruity and more neutral than a pale ale. The use of different types of malt also gives the beer a less caramel flavour than the English ales. To taste, the beer is mildly bitter and has fresh cereal flavours.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2007 Glancing through the foam your tongue perceives citrusy, herbal hops lying in the baccate earth...Further on come visions of caramel malt accompanying wooden hop dryness...A balanced and thirst-quenching alt...

On tap at Dieu du Ciel. Pours a clear orange brown color with a thick tanned white head. Toasted malt and a touch of hop aromas. Thin to medium bodied with ample carbonation and a touch of bitterness. Light grapefruit bitter finish.

Flat amber, creamy head. True alt aroma if I might say. Bitter. Interesting malt taste, once again true to real alt. Alcohol was a bit overexposed. Need to work on balancing few little details...

Draught at Dieu du Ciel! Pours a clear amber with an average size creamy off-white head. Nice lacing. Mild aroma of slightly toasted caramel malt and light hops. Light malty flavour with some notes of chocolate, nuts and light hops. Decent bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nothing bad here, it’s maybe a bit dull but it’s still easy to drink.
