Tap at Dieu du Ciel with Andy, PJ and Niles. Black pour with a chocolate brown head. Nose is of grain and roasty malts. Palate is slightly roasty coffee. Not as bitter as the description would lead me to believe. Pretty dry with a syrupy mouthfeel.

On tap at the brewpub.
Jet black pour, big mocha head. Huge aroma of roasted, burnt malts. Sme hops are present, but this is a big roasted malt, smoky, intense stout. Quite bitter, and there are notes of coffee and licorice. A wonderful roastiness grabs your throat and doesnt let go. Very nice!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 JulienHuxley (1708) - Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 13, 2010
On tap at the brewpub, regular CO2 and aged 1 year versions. Nice dark pour, almost pitch black with a bit of off white foam. Aroma of burnt toast, a bit of fresh coffee, very roasty. Taste is super well balanced. The roasted aspect gives the beer a very enjoyable bitterness and the malt flavors do not overpower this flavor. Palate is a bit thin for the style but not in a negative way, as it contributes to give the beer a dry and enjoyable finish. A great imperial stout that I could drink all day.

Very nice IS. On tap. Pitch black, lots of chocolate notes, malty, burnt and smokey (litlle) taste. Not to sweet, just enough to lessen the potential alcohol burn. Superb.
