The Grande Noirceur is an intensely black and dense beer with pronounced roasted flavours. The bitterness is very imposing but is balanced by a malty-caramel taste. The alcohol content is quite high, but its presence remains discrete in this beer.

ABV initially 8.5%, changed in late 2012 to 9%.

Kaffe, soja, toffee. Stor beska och välrostade espressotoner. Kärv imperial stout, riktigt fin beska som stramar upp sötman fint. Påminner lite om vanliga Yeti. Riktigt bra, och kaxig för att vara 9%.

Heavy smell of coffee, black malt and dark chocolate. The taste is too heavy. Licorice, dark chocolate, soy, dark coffee and black malts. Heavy bitterness that fills the mouth forever. Good beer but feel I would like to have it a little sweeter. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Tom L. Black with a tan head. Aroma of charcoal, chocolate, some dark fruits, smoky note. Bittersweet roasty flavor with charcoal, some chocolate, a bit of smoke, a bit of dark fruits, a bit of soy sauce, and a bitter finish. Full-bodied. Very good.
