COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Grande Noirceur is an intensely black and dense beer with pronounced roasted flavours. The bitterness is very imposing but is balanced by a malty-caramel taste. The alcohol content is quite high, but its presence remains discrete in this beer.

ABV initially 8.5%, changed in late 2012 to 9%.

Well balanced flavour profile with a slightly acidic taste which lasts throughout the entire palate. Dark almost black color with a fine brown head that stands well

Bottle. Deep dark/black with a brown slowly dissipating head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, sweet vanilla hint. Taste is very roasted dry cocoa, espresso, close to ashy, firm bitterness, very faint sweetness but that is overpowered by the bitey, roasted, ashy, bitterness. Big body, medium carbo. A bit rough.

A very dark ale with a small head. Aroma of faint cocoa, licorice, vanilla, and chocolates. Taste of dry cocoa, smoked malts, and hay. Bitter finish, full of cocoa.

Flaska. Svart öl med ett moccafärgat skum. Dofter av choklad och kaffe. Smakinslag av choklad, lakrits, karamell och rostad malt. Fyllig kropp.

Pours matte black with a moderately sized tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, muscovado sugar, dark fruit bread, fudge, roasted nuts. Taste is enormously well balanced with roasted chocolate and dark malts along with slightly smoked leathery tones. Mouthfeel is luxuriously creamy and rich with moderate carbonation. Great stuff!

Bottle from SB 160327. Batch 20150928. Pours a tar black with espressolike head. Heavy roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate, soy sause. Heavy palate with espresso and chocolate but with a too distinct bitterness that makes it unbalanced and not to my liking. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black with a nice brown foam. Roasty aroma mainly. Splendid creamy mouthfeel, taste of coffee, liquorice those especially dominating in the finish, slight tones of sweet dark fruit like plum/raisin but it is the heavier roasty tones that dominates. Alcohol very well hidden. An excellent top motch imperial stout!
