COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Grande Noirceur is an intensely black and dense beer with pronounced roasted flavours. The bitterness is very imposing but is balanced by a malty-caramel taste. The alcohol content is quite high, but its presence remains discrete in this beer.

Draft - Roasted malts, smoke, molasses and booze. Jet black with a brown thick never ending head. Syrupy slightly bitter chocolate, roasted malts and a molasses finish. A great stout, absolutely fantastic on tap.

Bottle, thanks gikinji! Pours pitch black, medium dark brown head, great lacing. Aroma is very roasty, coffee, dark cbocolate. Flavor is the same, little sweetness, light bitterness, very roasty. Bitter finish. Full body, creamy. Wonderful if you don’t like sweet stouts.

Bottle at beer bistro. Beautiful black pour with dark tan head. Dark chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Not as flavorful as expected. Roasty and chocolate it not gathering too much beyond that. Good not great

Bottle compliments of Tommy in VT shared with Simon and Keith, pours pitch black with medium coffee colored head. Aromas and flavor of heavy roasted malt, dark bitter chocolate, wood, cashews, and fig. Flavor is much of the same. Body is medium to heavy. Never got sweet rich is a rarity with russian imperials these days.

bottle hooked up by the man who still doesn’t realize that the HF 3rd anniversary party was cancelled and it was all just a dream. definitely one of the best imperial stout i’ve had in quite some time. this beer lifted hard. awesome deep clean roasted character, dark chocolate, touch of molasses. some deep fig and date adds complexity. super tasty. quite the beer. canada rocks.

12oz bottle pours a fairly viscous opaque black with some lacing, creamy, foamy, beige head. Nose has a ton of licorice, burnt molasses, caramel, dark toast, some toasted grains - rye mostly, lots of chocolate too, some dried fruit lurking as well, raisins and dark mission figs. Flavor has a touch of smoke, plenty of sweetness, both milk and dark chocolate, a little rubber, some bread crust, some coffee grounds, mostly just licorice. Full, slightly astringent, also sweet finish. Smells really nice, but the flavor is a bit of a let down.

Lovely huge beer! Pours jet black with no head and minimal lacing. Nose is muted, some fruit some espresso. Aromas are roasted espresso, some burnt toast, some bitter chocolate. Mild dark fruit and some grassy bitterness in the background .tastes are heavy sweet and medium to high bitterness. A bit light in the mouth given the overall size of the flavours. Some carbonation. Nice beer!

11 of 12 bottling date. Absolutely thick, dense black pour with a huge reverse cascading dark tan head that sticks for ever and leaves great lacing. Flawless appearance. The scent is fantastic, caramel, toffee, chocolate, roast, coffee, bread, dark fruit, light spice, it’s all here. Teh flavor is similar. It is not as sweet and caramally as I was expecting rather roasty, nice bitter cacao, but there is a noticeable caramel and dark fruit but it is only in the start not the finish. Such a complex beer.

Bottle thanks to pushkinwow. Dark black pour, with a light tan head. Dark roast, dense chocolate flavors, char, sweetness, and bitterness reminiscent of coffee. Good imperial stout.
