BuckNaked (1230) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - APR 3, 2011
On tap: very slightly hazy amber colored body with a large light tan colored head. Aroma has some light cereal malt aroma, hints of some darker roasted malt and toffee in the aroma. Taste is light sweet malt, apples, some earthy and fruit hops, and sure enough a bit of coffee and bitterness from darker roasted malt. Medium bodied, creamy mouthful no doubt from the use of nitrogen on this one.

Pours a nice amber yellow with a slightly hazy body and a creamy head. Incredibly awesome taste. Smooth like a cream ale but hoppy like an ipa, yet perfectly balanced. Simply amazing.

Lubiere (9731) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 5, 2009
A copper amber ale with a thin moka head. In aroma, lighthly hopped caramle malt with some funky notes. In mouth, a good malt base with resinous hops and berry notes. Medium bodied. On tap at Mondiale 2007.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2009 Draft at the brewpub. Sampled this one after several others, so I don’t really remember details, besides the fact that it was delicious.

Dégusté avec french tickler le 5 juin 2007. Clear dark brown poor with a very nice frothy creamy beige head and good lacing. Aromas of cream soda, hints of pepper, pine, citrus and roasted chestnuts. Creamy lactose like feel, great balance. Good bitterness, long lasting ... You can also feel the alcohol. Flavors of cream soda, notes of caramel, hints of pepper again... very complex... VERY good! FYI, the boards stated this beer as beeing 9%.

Imperial? Sure...but not as creamy as the name would suggest. The grains are thick and chewy, and the aroma is a mix of these field grains and some herbal hoppiness. Something just isn’t blended in a way to make this well rounded - the sharpness dominates. The lower ABV indicates a lack of needed sweetness. Maybe the freshness of this coming straight from the tanks is a detriment in this case.

Pours a clear copper color with a medium, creamy, beige head. Good aroma and flavor of hops with caramel malt and a bitter finish.

Sample, at the Mondial de la bière 2007, savoured May 31 2007; eye: ah, at last, a real cream ale, nice rich and creamy head of a dark almond color, clear, no effervescence; nose: caramelized malt, grapefruit, pepper, alcohol; mouth: hops-grapefruit, caramelized malt, long finale in hops-grapefruit, velvety, full body, creamy and alcoholic texture, not much carbonation, quite bitter, slightly sweet; overall: quite good FRANÇAIS Échantillon, bue au Mondial de la bière 2007, savourée le 31 mai 2007; oeil : ah, une vraie « cream ale », très belle mousse riche et crémeuse de couleur amande foncée, claire, pas d’effervescence; nez : malt caramélisé, pamplemousse, poivre, alcool; bouche : houblon-pamplemousse, malt caramélisé, longue finale en houblon-pamplemousse, veloutée, corsée, texture crémeuse et alcoolique, peu carbonatée, assez amère, très légèrement sucrée; en résumé : pas mal bonne

Tap Mondial. Citrusy hops aroma, decent malt backing, dark copper, small, long lasting cream head. Wild orange and red grapefruit flavour, dazzling malt finish.Wonderfully balanced, full bodied, fabulously bitter. Terrific!

Taster at The Mondial de la Biere 07. The color is amber with a beige head. At first taste it is hoppy and fruity but after some time the bitterness quicks in, all in all a good beer for the Mondial.
