3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 09maso3 (70) - vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 15, 2009
On tap at brewpub. Had a pint to start off my night. Nice classic landbier aroma’s, lagery malts with nobel hops. The taste in like cookies with a good bitter bite at the end. A nice easy drinking but flavourful brew.

Tap @ DDC. Aroma is rather malty, soapy with some hop presence. Taste leans towards the bittering hops. Another DDC success.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 tiggmtl (4475) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 18, 2006
Grassy, herbal and lightly spicy hops blend nicely with the fairly sweet toasty and caramle malts apparent in the nose. Hazy amber-brown coloured body is topped by a low, large bubbled but lasting, off white head. Earthy, spicy and herbal hops along with nutty, grainy malts in the flavour with a light, dry, finishing bitterness. Light body with moderate carbonation and crisp, clean carbonation. Sampled at Mondial 2006.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 beerbuzzmontreal (3428) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 9, 2006
Pours a cloudy amber color with a light brown head. Aroma of toasted and caramel malts, there’s some kind of fruityness too. Flavor of toasted and caramel malt, fruits and a bitter finish. The mouthfeel is dry. This feels more like a vienna than a kellebier ?
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 27, 2006
Dark amber body displays a lasting off-white head. Vigorous earthy nose offers a very generous caramel malt base that exceeds what you’d expect from a kellerbier. Slight graininess works nicely with the highly herbal hops. Dry development, faintly salty, not floral. Adequate hoppy length. Dry, gummy, malty example with fitting active carbonation. Rather different lager with no boundaries as seem to be the case with many franconian examples.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 25, 2006
A dark amber ale with a thin off white head. A sweet strawberry aroma, with caramel notes. In mouth, a crisp malt, with nutty caramel notes, fruity esters and light butterscotch. Medium bodied. Mondial 2006.

I had this beer at Le Mondial de la Biere Mtl. 2006. Amber in color, with a sweet caramel taste and also a spicy feel to it. Not the best from Dieu du Ciel but O.K.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - JUN 10, 2006
Sampled on cask at the Mondial de la Bière in Montreal, 2006. Dark, dirty amber-brown with just a touch of head lasting....nose is grassy, clean, faintly herbal and spicy, earthy and fairly dry but nothing exceptional....the body is sweeter than expected with lots of herbs, rather more malty and full than is usual....faint hints of caramel and chalky minerals.....very low carbonation. My least-favorite of the DDC beers at the fest, a shame as I was really looking forward to it; but it’s not at all bad, and the other two newbies they had on offer were very, very good so I can’t complain.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Glouglouburp (4784) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 9, 2006
Partly cloudy amber body, medium off-white head, good lacing. Light malt caramel smell. No surprise in the mouth, some caramel, a bit fruity, some floral hops, some bitterness. Nothing to complain about, nothing to wow about. A decent beer but below average for Dieu Du Ciel. Supposedly a one-time only batch brewed for the Mondial 2006. Will be forgotten as quickly as a politician promise. Full pint at brewpub.
3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Sammy (6120) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 6, 2006
Orange with a big head and soapy bubbles. Aroma is cheesy, some spice. An easy drink, allowing for much consumption of other beer, and sourish with good bitterness. Good carbonation, Some caramel. Spicey mouthfeel in the finish. A good choice for Mondiale 2006.
