#Version 2014 dégustée après 1 an.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2015 Bottle from Halles St-Jean. Aroma: citrus, mangos, peaches, passion fruit. App: nice hazy peach color, small white head. Some lacing. Taste and Palate: lots of fruits in mouth, medium sweetness, light long bitter and alcohol warming finish. Overall: Pretty good! Enjoyed a lot the fruity aroma and the mouthfeel. Bought a 4-pack and will probably buy another one soon. So yummy and refreshing.

Small head, but excellent webby lace. Cloudy orange-amber color. Relatively dry with a distinct floral hop smell. Well-balanced and very attractive. I note plum with a subtle sweetness. There’s the slightest of soft sour, citrus touch. The swallow and finish are of sweetened grapefruit. Well-balanced and easy to drink. The body is rich but the carbonation high. I would not guess this to be a Tripel, but all of the elements are present. It is far more balanced with a higher level of hop than I expected.

Excellent tripel with a distinctly citra nose and profile that still tastes like a Tripel rather than a hoppy IPA with some ambiguous Belgian yeast.

On tap. Pours hazy light golden with moderate frothy white head. Aroma of spices, cirtus (hops). Taste is more of the same and a bit of sweetness balancing the biterness. Great.

Bottle from Table and Vine. Orange caramel with flat head. Nice peppery floral aroma with citrus and herbal hints and some creamsicle. Sweet ripe orange bready malts with herbal and citrus bitterness and some pepper in the finish. Medium body that just kind of sits there. Texture is slightly off, not soft, not fine. I wonder if this is old. Anyhow very good. In the top 1% of tripels? No.

Pours a hazy golden amber topped by a finger of off-white head showing nice retention and some chunky lacing. The nose is herbal, spicy, lemony and earthy all at once. A lot more spice than I’m used to in a tripel. The taste is a combination of light bready malts paired with aromatic herbal and citrusy hops, and earthy yeasts. Feels round and heavy with a strong herbal finish fading slowly. An original take on the Tripel style but it might come out to herbal for some. Cheers!

Lightly clouded golden-amber with 1cm of off-white head, medium-fine coarseness that fades fairly slowly. Aroma is orange, lemon, some leaf and pine, touch of fruit sweetness and grain. Body is medium-to-meidum-heavy, syrupy/ a bit watery-oily. Moderate carbonation, soft/soapy feel, only light burn. Flavor is leafy bitterness, soapy, a touch medicinal, light raw sugar, touch of candy, bitter finish with moderate linger. An interesting tripel, leaning heavily towards hops, specifically bittering hops, at least in the aroma. I think this is a detractor in the flavor. Also much more heavy body than is typical for the style. Too bitter.
