3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy beige with a big, rocky head. The aroma is flowery, almost to the point of being perfumey, with light yuzu and phenolic, spicy yeast character. Sweetish up front but then yeastiness and dryness start to take over. Nice brew, and the assertive hopping keeps the sweetish elements of the tripel from overwhelming..

A golden amber ale with a thin white head. A superb aroma of floral orangey hops, funky and sweaty, intense chamomille. In mouth, a rather stiking IPA with herbal pinhey hops, warming alcohol, sweaty blood orange, quite challenging. Rich and warming. On tap at Mondiale de la Bière 2010.

@Mondial de la Bière 2010, Strasbourg - pours a dark golden beer with a little white foam left; intense citrusy and piney hops in the aroma; full-bodied, a fair carbonation and a solid bitterness; long fruity hoppy finish (blood oranges and citrus) with lingering warming alcohol notes - a beautiful beer again from DDC

11.5 ounce bottle from the Beer Trappe, Lexinton. Pours a hazy orange color with a thin frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of strong lime and other citrus notes, tropical and lemongrass notes, pale malt with a bit of toastiness. The taste is bright citrus, lemongrass, pale malts. Medium bodied, low carbonation, hint of booze. The hops really dominate any tripel characteristics, but it is a tasty, well balanced beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle... Mostly-clear golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Fantastic retention. The nose furnishes tropical fruit, apricot, and musky, peppery notes. Medium-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is a merger of hopped-up bitterness, and biscuit and honey sweetness. Crisp, bittersweet finish... the bitterness lingers a good while.
