Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Malty grainy aroma with floral hops. The flavor is clean and well balanced, with grainy malts and floral hops. Decent.

On nitro at Blind Tiger. Pours an amber orange color with a white foam head. Aroma of heavy grapefruit, caramel, and pine. Sweet caramel flavor with a harsh hop hit, even on nitro. Love the creaminess from the nitro which smooths everything out, but leaves you with resiny goodness on the finish.

(printemps 2007)

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange with a small, creamy and off-white head. Aroma is fruity hoppy, grapefruit and oranges. Smooth malty, bitter, solid hoppy and light grapefruity to oranges. Bitter and crisp hoppy finish. Mouthfeel doesn’t suit an IPA I think., lacks sparkling to really give away the hops oils.

Draught at Dieu du Ciel, Montreal. Amber, hazy, average to large and mostly lasting head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, caramel and some fruitiness, some citrus hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, some caramel and faint fruitiness, citrus hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and dryish, soapy citrus hoppyness. Aroma and flavor not in balance - aroma is mostly caramel, no hoppyness. In the finish hoppyness gets bit sharp and soapy.

Draught at the DDC Brewpub, Montréal, QC.
Amber cloudy colour with small creamy off-white head. English style floral fruity hops in bitter aroma. Bitter fruity flavour with darker notes and heavy bitterness. Dry woody malty. Bitterness stays. Very creamy.

Cask at the DDC Brewpub, Montréal, QC.
Amber colour with no head. Creamy fruity peachy aroma. Woody nutty malty flavour with dry bitter hops and fruitiness. Dry. Liked the draft version just a little more.

Decent, not great. Nice, hoppy aroma but fairly understated when actually consumed. Good mouthfeel from the nitro tap; unusual for the style. It’s an interesting take on an IPA but not my favourite.

Tap sample at DDC. Amber with a nice cream tan head. Very smooth hops, some herbs and fruit. Mild bitterness, bit of sweetness, then grows progressively more bitter....mmmmmm....nice and dry finish. Great hoppy beer without overdoing it.
