3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
3rd beer of the Montreal Modiale 2004. Juice-like read, no head. Aroma is strawberry cheesecake. Flavour is akin to cherry juice... though the finish is long and citric. A little thin. A little dissapointed.

Rosy smallish head, ruby red. Sweet, fruity bready Kriek .This medium bodied brew had plenty full of cherries. Nice true feel, left good impression on me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark ruby red in colour. Aroma of cherries, slight sourness and tartness. Flavour was mildly sour, lots of dark cherries, slightly dry and tart. Medium bodied. Finishes dry and a little thin. Pretty good but Dieu du Ciel can make this a whole lot better.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Mondial de la Bière 2004: Glowing ruby red color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is semi-sweet and semi-tart with plenty of cherry fruitiness, but lacking any aged complexity. Body starts with a touch of fruit syrup sweetness turning slightly more acidic toward the finish. Has some merlot-like wine qualities, but could be more balanced for a kriek.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Draught) Nose of jarred sour cherries with sweet strawberry jam. Pours a thin pink head with a clear, red body. Nice tart flavour of cherries without the fizziness. Not chappingly sour ~ a mellow finish. Good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft. Ruby read with a cream soda like pinkish head. Vinuous red wine notes in the nose. Initial sourness quickly gives way to a slightly sweet cherry. Not much to it really. Moderate body. Bit of a disappointment but not unpleasant. Mondiale 2T (Me).

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Ruby red color with a very thin head. Pretty decent aroma and flavor of cherries with medium acidity. Not bad but I feel DDC could have done much better. (The tasting took place at the Mondial 2004 but I misplaced the notes and just stumbled into them, I really have to clean up more often !)

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sweet cherry syrup boiled up and mixed with butter...This diacetyl works in the aroma and is thankfully invisible once imbibed...A little acidity garners the palate and some of that cherry sweetness as well...I am a little disappointed as this was billed as an Oud Bruin brewed with cherries, but what I am getting is only a cherry fruit beer...Of course, this is the beer commissioned by the Mondiale de la Bière festival, thus it smells of compromise...I am curious to see where this recipe is going to take them...

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Deep ruby red body, almost clear with a pinkih head. Aroma is rather appealing with flowers, cherries, slight woody undertones (branches), vanilla and mild spices (ginger, cloves). It seems well orchestrated from sniffing, but the taste is poor with a very low acidity level, no sharpness nor focus. Very simple cherry oriented flavor. Not approaching an our bruin with an almost grainy character at times. Fruit beer: Thin and watery, admirable accessibility; uninteresting study.
