On tap at Dieu du ciel. The color is a dark murky brown with a thick beige head. The aroma is of malt spicies and fruits. The taste also of malt yeast....spucies fruits mostly banana but also prunes with also some hops. It leaves a bitter sweet taste in your mouth that is pleasant.Another great one from D.D.C.

In short: A heavy, sweet and spicy banana cake in a pint. Good but a bit too heavy for my taste
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy dirty copped body topped by a medium beige head
In long: Nose is a big spicy banana bread. Smells thick. Tastes thick. A very nourishing (maybe too much so) banana bread covered with caramel and spiced with cloves and friends. Ripe bananas abound with some other fruits in the back. Very yeasty. Sweetness sensation in the medium-high. Full creamy mouthfeel. That beer is both a meal and a dessert. A bit too heavy for me, I find most 10% imperial stout easier to drink than this. Yet I’ve got to recognize that this is a very well made beer but I’m just not a big fan of sweet darker weizen bocks. Still, another well made beer from Dieu Du Ciel, this place always so jam-packed and I’m so clumsy that every time I go inside this pub I spill beer all over the inside of my belly.

My Bottom Line:
This complex but heavyset Weizenbock presents caramel, cloves, bananas and wheat over minty hops and their sustained bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the turbid ochre brown.
-Bready yeast flavors also contribute to the loquacious profile.
-The mouthfeel is a tad too heavy for my tastes in the style.
-The finishing hop bitterness is more important than the average for the style, which helps balance out the important residual sugars.
-That yeast sure is expressive.
On tap at the brewpub.

On tap at Dieu du Ciel. Pours a hazy ruby brown amber with a medium sized beige head. Sweet caramel and toast. Big candied banana, warm with touches of alcohol. Toasty warm malt. Medium bodied, smooth, with light warming alcohol on the finish and lingering candied bananas.

On tap at brewpub.
Appearance : Hazy mahogany with a small creamy head. Lots of thick lacing.
Aroma : Intense bananas, awesome spices.
Taste : Banana and spices with a bit of alcohol. Banana syrup. Intense bananas on finish with spices anf light alcohol.
Overall : This was pretty much all bananas. Thick banana syrup. Felt a bit artificial at times. Alcohol was a bit too much on the finish. Enjoyable overall but a bit over the top on the banana side in my opinion.

Drank on tap (12 oz) at the Montreal brewpub, on may 29, 2011. Murky hazelnut brown, little head. Aroma malty spicy raisins and little fruit, a little juicy. Taste of dry malted wheat, dry berries, plums and raisins slightly sour, dry bitterness and slightly smoke. A well done weizenbock, bravo DDC!
