UPDATED: JUN 13, 2010 On tap at the Japanese Beer event. Pours a hazy light orange with a decent lasting head- spotty lace. Aroma is of doughy wheat, herbal earthy tea-like, ligth citrus, and grainy. Flavor is also grainy, wheat, light bodies, lemon zesty hops earth, tree bark, tea, and bitter herbal finish. Very light and strange./

In short: A not-so-successful mix of buckwheat and herbal tea. A bubbly drink that does not really fell like a “real” beer. Not interesting.
How: Tap at brewpub (first batch ever, spring 2009)
The look: Cloudy orange=blonde body topped by a small off-white head
In long: Nose is rather herbal. I’m not sure I would have guessed tea but if I didn’t know but I would have called “weird” herbal nose. In mouth the buckwheat takes a lot of room and I can’t say it worked well with the tea. No hops presence, I don’t even know if they used any in this beer. Medium carbonation. The beer is not intense, is not really refreshing, has a weird astringency, a strange tisane sensation. Not something I want to have again. Anyway this mix of buckwheat and tea is too hard to describe to go any further, so I will stop here. But I didn’t, I lied again.

not much to this beer except bitter green tea. Its like drinking very bitter green tea with some slight bready malt notes.

On tap at DDC. Amber pour, small white head. Herbally hoppy aroma. Some spices. Decent taste - very herbal, green tea like, some hops. Not to my taste but a decent effort.

Appearance: hazed amber look with medium ,good looking white top, somewhat rocky crown 3+
Nose: Blend of herbal aroma, green tea , oriental spice . Different and interesting.
Flavor/Palate : Bitter , hint of wasabi with leafy tea. Herbal with strange malt base.

Enjoyed on-tap at the brewpub. A buckwheat beer with Japanese tea. Very light taste, to me not even as tasty as a really good Japanese green. However, delicate and something I would have on a summer day when I was just having something sessionable.

2009-06-06. Hazy orange body with a modest off white head. (3+) Strange aroma, like orange and hops? Vegetal/vegetable notes, peas? Flavour is similar, with odd hops and green vegetation combination, light bitterness throughout. Average to light palate. Did not care for this. On tap at Mondial 2009, Montreal

(Rating #2447)

On tap @ Mondial 2009. Aroma of fruit with some mild malt, apricot in colour, small custard head. Tastes of fruit with less malt. Light bodied, not much going on here guys, where is the tea? Disappointing for these brewers!
